I am afraid Burger Bar might be getting a little too successful for their own good. It seems they're a little too used to their routine. Mrs. SH and I ate there twice on this last visit. I very respectfully asked they prepare our burgers without the usual condiments, specifying what we did want on them. The gentleman behind the counter had no language difficulties and accepted a somewhat generous tip with grace. Out of four burgers only one was prepared the way it was ordered. All, and I mean all, the crap I asked them to omit was right there on the bun along with some of the stuff I did want. The second time I took the burgers back and tried to complain. I caught a large free serving of attitude from the Klootzakje who so nicely accepted my tip. There was no offer to make things right by the customer.

It was nice finally getting a decent burger in NL for a while, but I guess I'll be waiting for the return home to get one from now on.

Most of them are good at taking your money! personaly i dont tip there anymore! simple!, Ps a german mate of mine tipped a girl (who was a arrogant bitch) out of pure courtesy & to his shock she took the 2 euro coin & dropped it in the sink with all the dirty dishes/bubbles!,, Needless to say that was the end of tipping from him! & this was a few years back now,KD.

Shame, never had a bad burger in Feb this year, think we went 3... maybe 4 times in 5 days... all to the new Warmoestraat location. Maybe the new location will resemble the older one's soon, once the the newness wears off. Guess we're just going to have to find out in November.

Been a long time since I was impressed by the BB in 2008/09. Nothing improved but it surely got worse. Sweaty little shacks that will make you regret entering during warm days. Not to mention that you always have to wait. Also the quality could be better for the high prices... :x

Lol yeah I think so , my boycot goes back to my last trip (or one before that?!) basically went in with a mate ordered some food to take away then sat down , just as they were coming over with the food an employee came to me to tell me "sorry no (whatever it was) left" !! That was it no offer of something else , I jus got my money back , I actually asked "are you taking the piss?"

In fact reading this and other threads recalls from my past trip and 1 before that, that in my experience there is an ever growing number of places more than willing to ripoff the tourist be it drunk or stoned. Many a time getting a late night munchie the change has not added up or get everything they charge for. What's that place on Damstrat that sells the cakes and hot snacks?, Rennies or something. Recall getting a chocolate waffle and a pizza flat bread there last year. Only got 2.25 change out of a 20 note.

they opened up another burger bar next to hunters.... dunno those guys ALWAYS hooked it up for me.... super nice guys there and the burgers were awesome.

I was eating there every fucking night taking it home to my apt.

those guys were even hooking me up with free drinks, fries etc.

Just be nice to people... be cool, treat them like a friend and you'll be shocked how nice people are to you.

i know its common sense... yet few people do it. :-)

Went to the one on Kolksteeg last Saturday night and can honestly say that is is the worst burger I have ever had.
Maybe I got a bad Chef but seriously, just how hard is it to cook a burger. The guy had just browned off the outside of the burger leaving the centre raw mince. Walked the 3 minutes back to the hotel and opened the the burger box it was so raw that the bottom of the box and bun was literally swimming in meat juice.
Wasn't busy in there at the time and have had reasonable burgers there before so don't really know what has changed but definately won't be rushing back there in a hurry.
