I wonder how they are managing not to get caught, or whether it is just a wind up so the police keep going there expecting to find something when the real coffeeshop is like three doors down. Would not surprise me one bit lol.

And what is with them calling it a koffee shop, have us English forgotten how to spell??

Alcohol is cool, you cant blame those who abuse it for the substance itself. Usually getting pissed just enhances the person you are,so if your an aggressive prick this will come out when you drink.

I would rather see them raid a crackhouse than this place...surely that would benifit society at large.

I don't think anyone is saying alcohol is a bad thing really, just that assault, rape, murder, grade A drug dealing and many other things are much more of an importance to solve.

It drives me mad that when working in the Uk you have to pay them to do this kind of thing aswell. It is a major reason why I want to pack up and head around the world.

They really need to just smoke some weed and chillax a bit !!

While, I greatly enjoy booze, I am not sure I buy the argument that "getting pissed just enhances the person you are". For some people, that is probably true, while for others, quite the opposite is true.

For some folks, booze can lead to the Doctor Jeckyll/Mr. Hyde scenarios. Booze tends to lower inhibitions, but it can also cause mild people to become beligerant and vice versa.

And cannabis dosnt? Thats bull man, how many times have you been sitting arounding smoking and had a ' really good idea' that when carried out ending up being a little bit crap, or on hindsight the morning after realised what a truely shit idea it was? Thats part of the fun of stoning in my books, getting really mashed and doing some crazy shit. Of course cannabis changes perceptions, maybe not the extend of beer goggles, but any substance will alter the consiousness and therefore the perceptions of the human mind. The interesting thing with cannabis is that for some people, those with depression for example, the change in perception caused by cannabis can actually be a more postive perception than the orinigal non-altered perception of the indivitual.

I think the bilegerance of some people is related to the loss of inhibitions caused by alchoal. I think booze does the enhance the nature of the person, and their mood at that particular moment. A normal happy person will rarely have a drink and turn into a complete pyschopath. It may happen to the small minority, but a small minorty turn pyschotic after smoking weed. But that person most likelt had underlying mental illness's so it wasnt smoking weed that caused it, but brought it to the surface. Same with booze, the booze dosnt cause people to turn into complete pyshcos, it brings it to the surface.

Though I think your probably right and my orignal statement was vastly generalised, i think it would better put that booze in general dosnt cause people to turn into complete pricks. I agree with you Mr O, in fact i did oringally say that i would rather see them raid crackhouses than the uk coffeeshop.

I always said, as long as there is alcohol, I have a job. By the way, in my experience as a trauma nurse, you rarely see trauma happening when someone is just getting stoned on pot. (We do drug tests on all our patients when they come in for legal reasons).
