Bike rentals? (locals please!)

Post by sh@dy »

Need some info about the bike rentals, I found a page with some of the big rental organisations, but I would like to contribute to a local, something like the boat-club where you can give as much money as you want at the end of the tour....no big chain or something, maybe a coffeeshop or a local from here is giving them away....want 2 bikes for one day maybe on this weekend.

I used these during 420: http://www.discountbikerental.nl/ not sure if they fucked up the price or not but we only paid €22 for 2 bikes for 3 days.

The actual Mac bikes are good solid bikes but I don't like the advert on the front, apart from that, they are a very good ride.

I always get my bike within an hour of arriving in the city at Damstraat 20-22. Just persist in asking for a bike without adverts and they may open up their other storage room next door if you're lucky and if you get the right person with authority serving you. If on holiday a week or more, just as well buy a cheap 2nd hand one based on rental cost.

yeah, have a walk around de wallen with a bike lock in your hand... soon you'll be approached by people offering you fiets (sounds like feets) which means bike in dutch. never pay more than 20 euros.

If you want to support the local bike thief junkie cunts then fine, just hang out on the fiets bridge at the south end of Oudezijds Voorbugwaal and Oudezijds Achterburgwal listen for guys asking "Fiets to kopen" careful though, cops run sting operations there and it would be shitty being deported or something just for buying a junkie bike.

Alternately just go to the Waterlooplein markt and buy a bike for 50-60 euros and when you're done sell it back to the guy you bought it from from 25-30.

That must of gone un-noticed by the muggers and fake hard drug peddlers round the RLD

But i take your point, i was just repeating hearsay. As well as i was offered a bike for 20 euro, i assume some people must by them for the guys to keep trying to sell them?

Im glad its karmic society man, there usually the best to live in.
