Brussles Train Passport Needed ?

Hello everybody , maybe somebody can help me ? I plan on taking a train ride to Brussels the third day i arrive in Amsterdam this June, this will be my first time leaving Amsterdam , i want to spend like a day and a half there , my question is "Do i need to take my passport with me for customs " if any :?: also what is the earlyest train to leave AM :?:

You should have your passport with you at all times during your travels outside of the usa. You never know when you might need it or be asked for it. Have a nice trip.

it was my understanding that you need to have your passport with you all the time you are in the netherlands anyway

and if you are an american i think you always need to carry it with you for entering any european state

the dutch train network has a good website for finding out train times, in the upper right corner there is an English option

Well i always left it in the hotel safe , even the Amsterdam police had once said i should leave there too , but i will take it with me the day of the Brussels trip . :D
