What are some of yours?

one of my favorites:

"There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be." / All You Need Is Love, The Beatles

New car , caviar, four star daydream,
Think Ill buy me a football team.
Money, By Pink Floyd

also I find the line, " Two pills I pop, till my Pupils swell up like two pennies, I'm Clint Eastwood in his mid twenties " from an Eminiem song very funny, I dont even know why, just the word play I think.

Here goes a few!

"Once he had forests and mountains
That were only his - listening to him
Once he would run through the summer days
Catching memories for ages to come
Now he is dressing this naked floor
With his flesh and blood, and times passes by
His trade of pain might just have lead him
To deal with consequence
For some change as time passes by"

Pain of Salvation - The Perfect Element.

The way it's sung largely contributes to the power of the words, but I'm simply awestruck each time I hear Daniel Gildenlöw sing this.

Another passage by the same band that also leaves me completely devastated:

"I watched you die
And I have feared this moment
Since I was just a child
So why that sunny sky?
When my beloved grandfather
Lies dead here cold and still?"

- Dedication

Opeth also has a load of great passages:

"Into the orchard I walk peering way past the gate
Wilted scenes for us who couldn't wait
Drained by the coldest caress, stalking shadows ahead
Halo of death, all I see is departure
Mourner's lament but it's me who's the martyr"

- Harvest

The entire song "Burden" is just plain beautiful in both lyrically and musically.

"I, once upon a time
Carried a burden inside
I sung a last goodbye
A broken rhyme I had underlined
There's an ocean of sorrow in you

A sorrow in me

I saw movement in their eyes
Thay said I no longer knew the way
I had given up the ghost
A passive mind submit to fear
And the wait for redemption at hand

Waiting to fail

Failing again

If death should take me now
Count my mistakes and let me through
Whisper in my ear
You've taken more than we've received
And the ocean of sorrow is you"

I find sad lyrics the most beautiful, I find myself much more capable of finding words to describe something sad, rather than something happy.

"There's innocence torn from its maker
Stillborn the trust in you
This failure has made the creator
So would you tell him what to do"

- To Rid the Disease.

And she opened up a book of poems
and handed it to me
written by an italian poet
from the 15th century.

And every one of them words rang true
and glowed like burning coals,
pouring off of every page,
like it was written in my soul
from me to you
tangled up in blue

smoke two joints in the morning,
smoke two joints at night

it makes me feel alright...

-sublime

Let us burn one, from end to end.
And pass is over to me my friend.
Burn it long, but burn it slow,
to light me up before I go.

If you dont like my fire, then dont come around.
Cause I'm gonna burn one down.
Yes I'm gonna burn one down

Bob Dylan:=

Someday life will be sweet like a rhapsody,
when I paint my masterpiece.

Although at the minute I am listening to Grateful Dead covering it on the "Postcards of the hanging" album
What a long strange trip it is.

Take the time to make some sense
Of what you want to say

Masterplan by Oasis. Something everyone should remember!

Or How about this classic piece of MCee-ing by KRS one

Now here's a likkle truth
Open up your eye
While you're checking out the boom-bap, check the exercise
Take the word "overseer," like a sample
Repeat it very quickly in a crew for example
Overseer
Overseer
Overseer
Overseer
Officer, Officer, Officer, Officer!
Yeah, officer from overseer
You need a little clarity?
Check the similarity!
The overseer rode around the plantation
The officer is off patroling all the nation
The overseer could stop you what you're doing
The officer will pull you over just when he's pursuing
The overseer had the right to get ill
And if you fought back, the overseer had the right to kill
The officer has the right to arrest
And if you fight back they put a hole in your chest!
(Woop!) They both ride horses
After 400 years, I've _got_ no choices!
The police them have a little gun
So when I'm on the streets, I walk around with a bigger one
(Woop-woop!) I hear it all day
Just so they can run the light and be upon their way

Sound of Da Police by KRS One.

Any of the lyrics from The Toyes "(Hey Uncle Sam) Leave Us Pot Smokers Alone" but just to pick one "The problems of society
Were not caused by my friends and me"

Second choice would have to go to Primus Spaghetti Western "Funny thing about weekends when you're unemployed. They don't quite mean so much, Except you get to hang out with all your working friends."
You can not
overdose on THC...

I've tried...

We're not the ones whose pollution blackened our skies and ruined our streams
We're not the ones who made the nuclear bombs that threaten our lives
We're not the ones who let the children starve in faraway lands
We're not the ones who made the streets unsafe to walk at night

And even if we try and not become so overwhelmed
And if we make some contribution to the plight we see
Still our descendants will inherit our mistakes of today
They'll suffer just the same as we and never wonder why

Is it so wrong to wanna make a difference?
Why I'd like to think there's no excuse
Is it a crime to want things better for yourself?
How you wanna live is up to you, it's up to you
Pennywise - Up to you

Fighting for total change, or working for concessions?
Do we take what is ours, or ask that it be given?
Are we stealing it together, or asking for permission?

Another great one by the Floyd/Roger Waters is from When the Tigers broke free. It starts, "It was just before dawn one miserable morning in black '44". About his father getting killed at Anzio during WWII, brilliantly written song.
