Sign a petition, summon all your wisdom
The Music's a gift from the Man on high

Triple teenyear rudeboys
Come rain or snow the Buddha flows
You don't know?
Stand on the corner watch the show
Cos life moves slow
Sort yer shit out then roll
Sex, Drugs 'n' On The Dole
Some men rise, some men fall
I hear ya call, stand tall now
Has it come to this?

I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together.
See how they run like pigs from a gun, see how they fly.
I'm crying.

Sitting on a cornflake, waiting for the van to come.
Corporation tee-shirt, stupid bloody Tuesday.
Man, you been a naughty boy, you let your face grow long.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.
I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob.

Mister City Policeman sitting
Pretty little policemen in a row.
See how they fly like Lucy in the Sky, see how they run.
I'm crying, I'm crying.
I'm crying, I'm crying.

Yellow matter custard, dripping from a dead dog's eye.
Crabalocker fishwife, pornographic priestess,
Boy, you been a naughty girl you let your knickers down.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.
I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob.

Sitting in an English garden waiting for the sun.
If the sun don't come, you get a tan
From standing in the English rain.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.
I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob g'goo goo g'joob.

Expert textpert choking smokers,
Don't you thing the joker laughs at you?
See how they smile like pigs in a sty,
See how they snied.
I'm crying.

Semolina pilchard, climbing up the Eiffel Tower.
Elementary penguin singing Hari Krishna.
Man, you should have seen them kicking Edgar Allan Poe.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.
I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob g'goo goo g'joob.

Being a fan of Pink Floyd for what must be my entire music listening life there are many favorites. Roger's last release, "Leaving Beirut" has quite a few lines that express simply what I'm sure is the feelings most have.

"Is this a mountain that we really want to climb?"

And

"Oh George, Oh George. That Texas education must have fucked you up when you were very small."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akBYrc2m ... age#t=235s

"Not in my name, Tony, you great war leader you
Terror is still terror, whosoever gets to frame the rules."

Another favorite is from The Final Cut in the song The Fletcher Memorial Home.

"Did they expect us to treat them with any respect?"

"Is everyone in? Are you having a nice time?"

Not to mention the other Floyd lines previously mentioned - love those and the line in my sig from The Wall...
There must have been a door there in the wall when I came in.

I was so fortunate to be at this concert, the greatest one of my life, Eric Clapton's Crossroads guitar festival 2010 http://youtu.be/LQv5IKiwviA

This song always helps me hang on when days are going bad.

Soulshine
by Warren Haynes
(c) 1995 Sony Music Entertainment Co.

When you can't find the light,
That got you through the cloudy days,
When the stars ain't shinin' bright,
You feel like you've lost you're way,
When those candle lights of home,
Burn so very far away,
Well you got to let your soul shine,
Just like my daddy used to say.

[Chorus]
He used to say soulshine,
It's better than sunshine,
It's better than moonshine,
Damn sure better than rain.
Hey now people don't mind,
We all get this way sometime,
Got to let your soul shine, shine till the break of day.

I grew up thinkin' that I had it made,
Gonna make it on my own.
Life can take the strongest man,
Make him feel so alone.
Now and then I feel a cold wind,
Blowin' through my achin' bones,
I think back to what my daddy said,
He said "Boy, in the darkness before the dawn:"

[Chorus]
Let your soul shine,
It's better than sunshine,
It's better than moonshine,
Damn sure better than rain.
Yeah now people don't mind,
We all get this way sometimes,
Gotta let your soul shine, shine till the break of day.

Sometimes a man can feel this emptiness,
Like a woman has robbed him of his very soul.
A woman too, God knows, she can feel like this.
And when your world seems cold, you got to let your spirit take control.

[Chorus]
Let your soul shine,
It's better than sunshine,
It's better than moonshine,
Damn sure better than rain.
Lord now people don't mind,
We all get this way sometimes,
Gotta let your soul shine, shine till the break of day.

Oh, it's better than sunshine,
It's better than moonshine,
Damn sure better than rain.
Yeah now people don't mind,
We all get this way sometimes,
Gotta let your soul shine, shine till the break of day.

Just saw him at the King Biscuit Blues Festival and he just kicked so much ass, that man is 75 years old and his guitar playing is just as bad ass as ever! he also has a guitar player with him that will just blow your mind hes so fantastic.

So my quote from this video will be .... Buddy Guy: I'm gonna play something so funky you can smell it!

I can't tell you how amazing this show was! I was smoking a fat joint and dancing my big ass off.

So here is my blues hero doing what he does best: http://youtu.be/hxswaNonxPM

PS Thom I see you are a pink Floyd fan, I am proud to say we have our tickets next spring for Roger Waters The wall! I cannot tell you how excited I am!! :D

Well I have seen him play alot and he does jam for sure. Unfortunately the last time I seen him was at his own bar in chicago, Buddy Guys Legends". He was drunk as a skunk sitting at the bar. Could not even jam with the musicians playing. I was bummed.
I need a miracle everyday

Saw him play at his new location Legends in Chicago the night before Eric Claptons Crossroads last year and he played his ass off then walked out with Ronnie FKN Wood from the Rolling Stones and proceeded to just bring the house down making his guitar seem to almost have a life of its own. He is the most inspiring 75 year old musician in my little world is all I can say. We all have an off day. I know theres plenty of times I wish I'd drank less and not been trashed off my ass but hey shit happens. I've seen Buddy 3 x in the past year, each time he melted the face off everyone in the front row just shredding the strings off that guitar.

He is cantankerous, cusses like a fiend, and then proceeds to just smoke the neck off his guitar. Love that old codger always will. <3

Now to drag it back onto darling Luv Ticks subject here...

Donuts are too hot to touch
Just like a fool, when those sweet goodies cool
I eat 'til I eat way too much

'Cause I'm livin' on things that excite me
Be they pastry or lobster or love
I'm just tryin' to get by bein' quiet and shy
In a world full of pushin' and shove
