alot of good traditional italian wood fired places. i usually go for the margerita. nothing special, good enough for me. never found a place that had my fave topping (portuguese linguica) but plenty of places with my seond fave..parma ham..yum.
educating myself and waiting for the next trip.

Best Pizza
My wife and I have been going to the Piazza on Paleisstraat, right across from the Royal Palace, since the early 90's. The pizza, soup, and pasta are all very good and the prices are reasonable.

You know I've been by that place Stuart linked to loads but have never seen it and you know why? BALRAJ.
I always go to a place called Pe Pes down Westerstraat for pizza, dont know if its the best but I always get a tasty calzone and get treated very well, the owner always recognises me as well which is nice.

My favourite place to eat pizza in Amsterdam is Fuoco Vivo at De Clercqstraat 12, just a block from Marnixstraat. It is staffed exclusively by Italians and a good portion of the clientele also seems to come from the home of the pizza.
