BMI cheap seats

Post by Kermit »

Any1 looking for a cheap flight throughout June from u.k (Birmingham not sure about other airports), I noticed BMI have seats for £0 so you just pay the taxes and charges. although the taxes are a bit crazy it might be worth it if you fancy a last minute trip.

Sleazyjet just pipped it for me. £55 return, cheaper car parking and a slightly shorter drive to get there (Liverpool) from home.

I do miss being able to fly from John Lennon airport. I do not miss the mad 'scrum' for seats on 'sleazyjet' though...

You do know you can upgrade, I always do when flying Easyjet. You can book in at the last minute and walk by everybody else in the queue and be first on and first off the plane despite. As you are first on the plane you can choose where to sit.

KLM and BMI I've flown with and you can book your seat before which does save a great deal of time, I grant you, but not always guaranteed, in my experience. At least with Easyjet, I know I'm with only 5 to 8 other people who are given first priority to board the plane, with an upgrade.

Yes, it costs more. It's called Speedy Boarding and is an optional extra costing around £15. All it enables is being first on the plane and first off. You can also show up late to the airport and walk by everyone else who arrived earlier. Some could say it's a complete waste paying the extra just to be first on the plane, but I always do it when I choose to fly Easyjet. I prefer KLM but it costs more.

I love KLM too, but I am part of the generation that expects a free drink on his flight...

As for sleezyjet, you could also pay an extra £30 to sit in the posh lounge, £? to take a bag with you and £8 to fart on one of their planes... Woosh, no longer a 'cheap' option!
 :D

Easyjet is a bit naff, imo. I only use them for a trip or two to Amsterdam annualy. What is it, a 50 minute flight time from Bristol airport and it's all over anyway. If I fly anywhere else in Europe, I prefer not going Easyjet myself.

I used to use KLM regularly when I lived in Manchester. Nothing like flying with a 'real' airline. Unfortunately their prices don't seem to be as cheap as they once were.

As for the Speedy Boarding etc. Why bother? The flight's only an hour or so, so who cares where you're sitting.
This pending trip is all about the savings (at least until we walk into a coffeeshop) so we're doing no extras at all. That's no hold baggage, no speedy boarding, no travel insurance, just the seat please.
