Day 5 - Wednesday November 21, 2012 - Part 1

You know that look - the one people get when Amsterdam comes up in a conversation. That unspoken acknowledgement of coffeeshops and sex for sale. These people cant be blamed for their reactions -- thats probably been their experience or the ones theyve heard about from friends and relatives.

Its not news that the average visitor smokes some weed, spins through the RLD, and sees a museum or whatnot. Heck, ive been guilty of this behaviour too, more than once in fact. Maybe thats why i was looking forward to Wednesday so much, as it was a chance to see and do something new.

"Nail hits at the Beach" has been circled on the calendar for a few weeks now - ever since USBL made plans for a second installment, there was no way i was going to miss out.

Wednesday was also our second to last day in town, and there was a lot to jam into the final 48 hours. Since going to Zandvoort was going to eat up half the day, we planned on an early 7am start at 1e hulp. There were going to be stops at Funkey Munky and Club Media before getting back to Voyagers for the 10am TnT.

Needless to say, none of this happened. By the time we hit the road, it was already 10am. Popped downstairs for a quick confirm of the plans, then we were off for breakfast at Stones. Had the english breakfast, while Mrs TC had the apple pancakes.

Back to Voyagers for 11am, grabbed 40e of the Super Bio Lemon Haze. Had a few laughs sitting around the coffeeshop waiting for the rest of thecrew to arrive. LuvTick passed put another round of caramels, had a half of one treat and saved the rest for later.

There was some confusion on the board about when Rob_OG had said he was at Voyagers this particular morning. It seemed a war was brewing and bluffs were going to be called....and in the end, the story has a fun finish, which you will soon see.

Hide, Marco, Smirks, the LuvBong, LT's sister and her significant other and friend, and Mrs TC and myself made the hike up to Centraal station. Purchased our tickets, then decide theres time to grab a bite to eat. Bonglord points out this great pasta place in the train station called Julies, good quality take out or eat in and open late!

Get the train to Zandvoort station, and as we are walking out we are greated by a new face...its Rob_OG! Super nice fella with a passion for THC.

Before the nail hits, we make a stop at La Paz coffeeshop. Now this place is beautiful. Plush couches and chairs, pool tables and mood lighting. Purchased 1 gram of blueberry cheese and 1 gram of Amnesia haze. Dont remember the prices, but both were 12e or less.

Rolled the blueberry up into a fatty and shared that spliff with Rob_OG, then it was off to the beach.

Led through the streets of Zandvoort like mice by our own Pied Piper of Cannabis - USBonglord - we reached our mousetrap, so to speak. The sun struggled to squeeze through the clouds, and we were chilled from the breeze. Despite the weather, the day was brilliant. Freightliners dotted the coastline, as the waves rolled across the sand.

Our little group of stoners huddled around what could only be described as a large metal storage unit or power generator. USBL was seated on the concrete foundation, welcoming us forward like Santa Cannabis.

Intense Jedi Master eyes, Hide takes the nail hit...

Spoon on a nail is a beautiful thing. Its super clean and smooth, and the high is almost immediate.

We each took a hit, some took two - sure enough, we were all fucked up.

Then as we were enjoying our high, it was time for a joint....except no one thought to roll one for the beach when we were La Paz. Laughs were had, and USBL took a stroll barefoot in the water,

Thank you to all for the great time and atmosphere...and a special thank you to USBL for the spoon and nail hits.

Love this pic dude, yer one crazy fucker.

It was a great day!

Coming up: heavy artillery fire on the road home

Aaah - artillery fire - seems to be a recurrent theme here since the beginning of December!

And you're right about spoon on the nail - a really good hit.

Hi TC - Saw your new installment was out so I just had to roll one up and have a wonderful time being transported to zaandfort and nail hits. Great installment. Looking forward to the next very much. Thanks for taking the trouble to post. Great pics too. 8)

Hey USBL - let's do the cannonballs for 420. We can stream it live on the internet. Nail hit - cannonball - nail hit - cannonball - nail hot - etc

1 nail hit per cannonball!

Man I'm wrecked again that joint had rather a lot of QWISO soaked weed in it.

"dank" (to me) means rotten/earthy- like wet forest

When I say "dank coffee" flavor I mean like coffee from Sumatra, where they ferment the coffee beans- there's a dirty rotten fruit flavor that sounds gross but is actually quite yummy. http://www.coffeereview.com/article.cfm?ID=67

Thanks for the nice words SS'67 and TC :) - I'll consider starting a cali diary- the weed here is really lovely.

Day 5 - Wednesday, November 21, 2012 - Part 2

Its cold, its windy, its cloudy, and we're high -- Nails at the Beach is deemed a success.

We frolic in the waves and dance in sand while the high of the nail hits begins to fade with the sun. The cold realization that nothing was "rolled for the road" snaps the group into gear. It is time to begin our trek home.

The stretch of road from the beach through Zandvoort is cobblestoned...its quite a lovely place.

Image

Image

Our merry band is not rowdy or noisy or even smoking anything...we're actually moving quite quickly to avoid the drizzle of rain. A turn here and a corner there, and we arrive at Yanks. And just as we break the threshold.....

BANG!

A loud explosion that could only have been a large firecracker bomb type thing went off. Holy shit that was loud. Speculation is locals unhappy with the coffeeshop and it drawing undesirablest....or just morons out for fun. Whatever.

Yanks is a fairly large place with a big patio, out front. Checked over the Sour Diesel with Bonglord, it was mostly shake, but fresh and not powery at all. It smelled great so i grabbed two grams, wost case it would mix with the hashes i already had. Also grabbd a gram of AK47 i believe...missed noting the purchases here.

We dont stay, this is a buy and fly....back to the station. On the ride back, Rob_OG points out a beautiful looking hash he's going to purchase at Wortels in Haarlem. How did that turn out ROG?

We arrive at Central and it is jammed. Needed a washroom break, and got split from the group. Quick stop and decide to eat...so we head to Batavia. The nachos here are really good, think ive said that before....the bangers and mash is also tastey.

Have to grab the Grey Area entry, so after dinner we hike there and find out about the "judges only very short and incrediblely fast alternate path to the counter" line. Buy 3.5 grams of Exodos Cheese for 45e, one of my alltime fav strains. Also get the judges package of 1 gram grey crystals and 1 gram of Ever Grey, served up with with a pin in a lovely "bottomless" aluminum cup.

A quick stop up at the room to freshen up, then its back to Voyagers where we smoke until around 11pm. The munchies are calling so we hike to Rene's but sadly they are out of the fudges! Some alternate treats were purchased and enjoyed.

Image

We make a couple stops on the way back to the room...first ar Green Place for more MORE MOG, 1 gram please and 1 gram of Abusive OG. Then pop into HSB at the Market for 1 gram of lemon haze.

Thats it for the day...we pack it in to prepare for our last full day in Amsterdam.

Coming Up: the final 24 hours
