Hoping for power and heat for xmas morning, been without both since midnight Saturday.
It was -20c last night, expecting the same or worse tonight.
5 people dead, going to be many many more freezing to death or from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Scary times right now.
....and a tree fell on our house Saturday too...with another massive limb teetering over our living room.
This is the worst Christmas ever ...not a happy time right now.

You must be in Ontario or east TC. We were lucky, just west of Toronto, our neighbourhood didn't get too much damage, however, drive just 5 mins away, and there's plenty of downed trees, etc. Can't believe Sonneybrook was without real power for almost a day. That's freekin' scary.
Hope you get hydro soon, and your place gets fixed as soon as possible!
As a fellow Canuck, I'll be thinkin' of you when I'm there. Cheers man.

Thanks but we all good now, was four days with no heat or power, but our friendships are renewed and stronger than ever.
Have a truck load of fire wood from the downed tree cut and ready to go...anyone swinging by can have for free.
Enjoy the rest of 2013!

Glad you're squared away. We spent nine days without power once after an ice storm in NC. Not an experience I ever wish on anyone.
Happy New Year!

17 days? pfff. that's nothing. In the great winter storm of 1987 we went without power for 40 days and nights. WE didn't feel the need to boast about it either.... Let me guess you called for your mommies again? lamos from Nova Scotia
