Here goes with the official recap of Trip #5, Feb 7 thru 12.

Day 0 - Monday, Feb 6, 2012

Right up until the departure I was a little shady on whether Jinxsy would actually show up. He is terrified of flying and it's a major phobia for him, one of about 1,243,456...same as George Costanza. It's Jinxsy's quirks that make him a fun travel companion. It's like I told Gapie before he and Jinxsy met, Jinsxy has a habit of making stoner comments even when he's sober.

we meet at my place, then take the limo to the airport for scattered departures... I'm direct to AMS, jinxsy with a connect through London.

I arrive in Amsterdam well rested from the flight, probably got an hour or two of sleep. Doesn't matter -- as soon as the plane wheels are on the tarmac, the energy hits and I realize it won't be more than 90 mins until I'm high.

This is when the energy and excitement of the trip hits at the wrong time. The passport agent asks "purpose of visit" and I quickly respond with a smile "to party". Agent "excuse me?", and I quickly reply "vacationing" with a serious look. It was an awkward 5 seconds of silence, then the stamp and move along. Woooooosh.

I grab a refreshment, bathroom, and luggage and wait for the little man to arrive, and he does and we're off to the train for the ride into Central Station. The train is jammed, but at least it's an express direct.

Drop our luggage off at the storage unit in station, and then we're off into the HOLY FRICKING COLD AIR OF AMSTERDAM!

Image

I've never experienced cold like this in AMS -- sure back home all the time, but this is 15-below with a killer wind and it's still not 10am.

Stepping out of Central, the usual mix of tourists and locals... the aroma of cannabis is there... as is the stench of parties gone past.

I take a deep inhalation of Amsterdam's sullied back-end and realize that I've finally arrived home -- damnit I love this place.

Day 1 / Part 1 - Tuesday, Feb 7, 2012

By this time, we've been up almost 24 hours or more, so we high-tail it to Barney's on Haarlemmerstraat for 2 grams Grinspoon, 2 grams G13 Haze and 1 gram King Hassan.

Across the street and a couple of Irish breakies later Jinxsy and I are thoroughly satisfied. Out comes the Grinspoon and I roll a 1.5 gram cannon as a "little" pick up to the morning.

Pass it to Jinxsy and four hauls later he says "I'm good". WHAT?!?! Dude, first joint of trip and you're already waving off? I'll cut him some slack and chalk it up to tired bones.

Walk down the steet and pop into Green House. I only went in here to see if by slim chance the King Kush is back in stock -- it's not. I'm not much of GH person anymore, but I did want to sample the Exo Cheese, so 2 grams please, and throw in 2 grams of Super Lemon Haze for good measure.

We chill in GH for a bit, Jinxsy notices the fish in the floor and is instantly fascinated. The Exo Cheese is a real treat, love the Cheesey taste and aroma -- very unique to me since I've never tried in the past. Def love this strain. 9/10

Overall, GH impressed me this time around. Great service, good menu, and the herbs were well cured and tastey with solid highs. The SLH was also very good, maybe best SLH I've had, or 2nd best.

After a couple shared fattys, we're back on the road and off to Cafe 420. Check out the menu, the 420 Kush and 420 Haze catch my eye. Grabbed 2 grams of the Haze and a couple cappacino's. 6/10 for the 420 Haze, nothing special.

it's getting close to noon so we are off again, this time across the Damrak and up to Central to get our bags and check into Voyagers. Check in and get some of the famous Kosher Kush, 40e for 2.6 grams. A Kosher Kush cannon later and we are ready for a 3.5 hr power nap.

Below: view from room at Voyagers.
