LIVE REPORT BURGERS 29/6 - 2/7/09

Post by burgers »

Just settled down smoking the first joint of the trip in the smoking room at the rear of Green Place.

Flight was ok, little bit of a delay getting off at Schipol as the ramp was broken and we had to wait for the steps to arrive.

Plane was full although I did my usual scan of the other passengers for any potential smokers but it was mainly holiday makers and bussiness folk.

Weather reports turned out to be absolute bollocks as its 24 degrees out here but feels as hot as London which I've just left behind. We're in the middle of a 30 degree heat wave which makes a change as it usually pisses down while the tennis is on at Wimbledon.

Anyway, I digress.

Delay getting off the plane was made up as I got the fast train into Centraal and was checking into the hotel ten minutes off the train. Smoked my last pure cigarette for 4 days while walking.

Had to put my shorts on. I appologise in advance to those I'm meeting later for my legs but us Brits have to make the most of the sunshine when we can.

Purchased 1 gm of OG Kush when I got Green Place for €15. A can of Coke is €2.50 which is outrageous but is adding a nice sugar rush to the buzz from the Kush. Will get a better look at the bud when I get back into daylight but it was a real sticky bud, good taste but I know I'll smoke better tasting on this trip. Nice head buzz though that's got me texting at a crazy speed.

Nice start to the trip. Finishing my drink and spliff then off for a munch and onto De Kuil for some SSH.

See you at Katsu at 4.20!!!

I cycled in my shorts to work this morning. The glare from my legs caused accidents on 6 major road systems here :)

Quick update before I crash.

Got to 4:20 and enjoyed a spliff of Super Silver Haze. As I expected it was a nice cluster of plump crystal covered buds which gave a real Hazey head high.

I floated back to the hotel before picking up a tram pass and heading down to Katsu.

Took my time to gaze at the menu for about ten minutes before inevitably going for the Black Widdow. 0.8g didn't look that big but it didn't need to be.

I cannot impress upon how much I wish everyone to try this strain as soon as possible. Wow. I was out of the game for about an hour. Complete awareness of my surroundings and able to read at length but coupled with total couch lock and loss of speech. If the place had caught on fire I'd have been fucked. I will be going to get more to send home, this gear is rocket fuel.

Popped by Homegrown Fantasy. Purchased 0.8g of Cheese but smoked the rest of the OG Kush from earlier.

Finished the SSH in Stone's Cafe watching England get thumped in the Euro Finals. We never win anything. Also had a joint of White Rhino with a guy from Spain. He couldn't roll and asked me to do the honours. He insisted on a pure joint and left after we shared it. He was turning green.

Just typing this in Coffeeshop 36 while smoking a fat joint of Cheese before calling it a night.

Good to be back as always.

Yeah that about sums that strain up. I felt pretty similar. Which was great because I was a concert at Paradiso. Downside is I couldn't get outta my seat. I watched my wife dance though. 8)

Sounds like fun and I agree about the Black Widow. Try the NLSP and anything else on Katsu's menu. Wish I was there...

DAY 2

Started late due to Modays session running into the wee hours.

Had a bit of a route in mind hopefully getting me to Greenhouse Centrum for about 4. As always the best laid plans go awray and after two joints of G13 Haze and a couple of Latte's. In Barney's Farm I was on a full on buzz.

Took a very slow walk in the sunshine and passed Amnesia to walk into Grey Area.

Not to busy, I could have stayed a smoked one but I had other things in mind.

Explained I'd had a hazey morning and I wanted to carry on buzzing but not be totally wired for the rest of the day. By now it was about 12.30 and was reccommended the Grey Haze which I purchased for €11.50. They have got it spot on in Grey Area. Don't fuck about with making money out of drinks. Just sell top quality US gear and the punters will come. I left after my brief conversation with the bud tender and there was another three behind me already waiting with cash in hand.

Took another brief walk past Tweede Kamer (which was empty) and Dutch Flowers (ditto) and down to Dampkring (which was packed).

Explained I'd had the Mexican Haze a couple of months ago and loved it but wanted to try something different. Dealer let me pick out a nice 2g bud of Mako Haze. Can't remember the price.

This gear looks totally different to anything else. Almost fuzzy but totally reeked in the grinder and gave me a peppery spice flavor on the exhale. Also tucked into the Grey Haze which fucked me for a good 15 minutes before I came round.

By now I was in need of food and drink so enjoyed a bagel and mineral water at the end of Waterlooplein with the market going on the other side of the road before walking the rest of the way to Bluebird.

Straight in with a bag of Blue Cheese and another water and got cotched in the smoking room which is fully air conditioned as well as the windows being open. It made for most pleasant surroundings while finishing off the Sudoku puzzle I'd beet workin on.

Unfortunately it was while sitting there I realised it was 4.30 and had missed the MNG but this is how it goes in Amsterdam.

After a shower, chill and smoke back at the room I hit Greenhouse up on Haarlemerstraat. A gram of Super Lemon Haze @ €13 and a nice bud of Arlen's #1 Haze at €18 saw me through the evening. That particular coffee shop is one of my favorites. The lay out is superb. The decor is nice and the fact they can open up the entire shop front in the summer gives the whole shop a nice open feel to it whilst giving you enough enclosure to not feel you're exposed to the world. I'm not opposed to smoking on pavements etc but always feel a tad for passing minors who's parents I'm sure don't want to exposed their young ones to such things just yet.

Can't remember much after that but I know I stopped by
Coffeeshop 36 on the way back to the hotel for one of their vanilla milkshakes and a smoke. Never buy any weed in there but they never have a problem with it so I smoke my gear from elsewhere. Finished off the Cheese from HGF purchased yesterday before heading back.

Missed a potential MNG but got some good quality purcheses in and deffinately didn't feel dissapointed with anything I'd smoked so far but that Black Widdow from Katsu I had yesterday was still going to take some beating.
