Finally got to read every word YAY!
geekymonkey wrote:The next thing he showed me was the S-5 haze, which I was instantly ready to buy based on the fact that it was literally the most perfect looking bud I had ever seen and it smelled like utter heaven. Not to mention the high praise it had gotten from folks over here like Island Girl. I picked out a beautiful nug that weighed in at just over 2 grams. I picked up the two beautiful bags of bud and a Mango Looza and I turned around just as the seat by the window opened up. I was sure the universe loved me as I sat down to roll my first joint.
That S5 Haze has become one of my favorites and I had never even heard of it until my visit to MY in April! I'm glad you loved it as I did, gf - these trip reports are gold to connoisseurs like us. ;-)
geekymonkey wrote:James looked up from a pair of customers and a smile broke across his face. I was only halfway to the counter when he came out to hug me with a warm, "Amy." His greeting filled me with a warm rush of joy. It's nice when people who you think are special seem to like you back. I gave him a second hug from Island Girl that he seemed to especially appreciate (I made sure it was a warm one IG). He went back to the customers he had been helping when I came in and I grabbed a stool at the bar, but not before he passed me a beautiful nug. Honestly, the pale sage-colored nugget was dense and frosted. It smelled like heaven. Sweet and a little cheesy. I quickly packed a large bowl and took a mighty hit. A gentle warmth began to spread through my body, and by the time I set the pipe down I couldn't contain my giggle. James looked over to me and I exclaimed, "It made my nose warm!" "Jaaaaa," James replied in his slow drawl. (Mmmm, makes me smile just to remember it. I love everything about that man.)
Aw Jaaaaaaaaaaaaames! Thank you so much for giving him that hug, gf. Next time we're together in the dam I'll roll a joint for you that will blow your doors off... and top it off with some terminator! You're a wonderful friend and I treasure you already, Amy. 8)
geekymonkey wrote:The boys chatted and I studied the murals on the walls. One of the images is a drawing of an orgy scene from an old Chinese pillow-book. That piqued my interest, and I studied it at length. In the orgy were fifteen women and one man, which struck me as terribly wrong. I wanted to give those poor ladies some cocks, or at least some dildos, but alas I had no scissors or tape.
lmfao!!!!!!!! Reminds me of the pant-less mannequins BB and I were laughing at in Hunters, but they were male. I don't get the orgy thing, one passionate man + one passionate woman is the best scenario. Besides, no man could handle more than one with me lol
geekymonkey wrote:“If the wife’s you, maybe.”
Totally true - even I'M ready to propose!

Awesome reading, felt like I was right there with you and sure wish I had been. One of the best reports ever, keep it as wordy as possible; you choose great words, woman :!: :!:

I woke from a hard sleep to the clamor of happy people on the street below my apartment. My mind drifting and my eyes closed, I rolled over and snuggled into my mr. Breathing in his soft warm smell relaxed me even further and I tried to be still and fall back to sleep, but energy was already crackling through me.

When the urge to wiggle became overwhelming, I cracked open my eyes to see the soft light of dawn suffusing the room. Not wanting to wake DrJ, I pulled on my pajamas as quietly as I could, and grabbed some clothes for later. It wasn’t even 7am when I walked into the living room, and the festivities were just starting to die down outside my window.

Thinking that I would try to go back to sleep I packed a bowl of the Vanilla Kush. Remembering to take a delicate hit, I savored the grippy expanse of the fragrant smoke in my lungs. A pleasant, drifty warmth suffused my body and the little twinge in my back seemed to fade away. I stretched out on the couch, watching the action on the street below. The doner shop downstairs, which had gotten such high marks from the boys, was clearly a local favorite and people continued to come and go below.

After about twenty minutes I was still awake, so I decided to smoke another bowl of the sweet kush. I spent the next fifteen minutes watching the sky turn a vibrant blue, and I just felt too good to go back to sleep. Instead I started taking pictures of and sampling all of the goodies in my stash.

Image
Amnesia’s Vanilla Kush

Despite the fact that I hadn’t hit the ground until after three o’clock yesterday, I had managed to pick up an impressive collection, several of which I hadn’t even smoked yet. Thank goodness I had a team with me. A half ounce of nine different varieties, not a bad first evening. More smoking today is an absolute necessity, I decided with a grin. The only thing in my stash that I had finished off was the first three grams of Basjoe’s cheese, which seemed to literally disappear.

I was surprised to discover that the Purple Kush was still good, despite my misgivings about Bushdoctor’s. While not the strongest smelling, it still had a distinctive spicy herbal aroma, with notes of grapes, coriander, and lavender. There was a kush undertone, that kind of smelled like gym socks. Yum. The smoke was pleasantly dank in the mouth as well, with grape candy accents. This time, it was the second bud that I smoked, which is as close to sober as I get in Amsterdam. The effects were still moderately strong, and it still had a warm, narcotic stone. I wasn’t in much pain, but I get the sense that this would have taken care of all of it. I kind of felt like I had been wrapped in fluffy warm towels after smoking it.

Image
Bushdoctor’s Purple Kush

It was foggier and less visual then the Vanilla Kush, and it quickly induced some munchies that had me heading towards the kitchen. Mmmm… Coffee… only I couldn’t find the coffee filters. I swore I had seen some yesterday, but I couldn’t seem to locate them. I briefly contemplated running to the store, but fuck it, I’d rather smoke another bowl, so I poured some milk in my coffee mug and grabbed a banana.

I was halfway back to the couch, debating between trying the Cherry Berry and Chocolope, neither of which I had tasted yet, versus moving to something Sativa since the sun was coming up, when I took a big swig of milk. I had to harness all of my (very limited) self control to keep from spitting the milk all over the living room. Horrible sourness filled my mouth.

“What the hell?” I thought to myself, is the fridge broken? Is the milk sour? I peered into the cup, confused that I didn’t see any curdled chunks, because if the milk tasted this bad it must be seriously spoiled. Then I remembered that last evening DrJ had helped me with the shopping. When we were in the check-out line I realized I had forgotten to get milk for coffee. (Why I remembered that and not napkins or coffee filters, will remain a mystery of stoned shopping). DrJ had been nice enough to go back and pickup a liter… of buttermilk.

Basjoe’s Heaven Haze

Tallying up all of the things I was missing I decided that a trip out might be in order, which conveniently solved my Indica/Sativa dilemma. Out=Up. Heaven haze. Mmmm. This time, I swear I could smell and taste an undercurrent of coconuts in addition to the lemons and sweet haze perfume. In between puffs I hastily changed into my clothes in the kitchen. The second puff of the heaven haze deliciously erased the tangy buttermilk stank from my tastebuds. The sweet soaring high took hold as I headed down the stairs. Coffeeshop or Grocerystore?

Thanks everyone for the kind words- I have to run now, but I'll catch up with you all individually tomorrow am.

I'm so glad that you all are enjoying it, and I appreciate the reassurance. I was getting a bit self-conscious when I realized that I hadn't even made it to the end of day 1 yet and I was like a zillion pages in

But I'm having so much fun sharing it with you all. It was my favorite trip to Amsterdam so far.

report continues to delight. bushdoctor purple kush! i too have my misgivings about bushdoctors. the surliness of the staff is offputting. but to be honest all the bud i've ever bought from there has been well cured and dripping with crystals. my friends got some fantastic laughing bhudda cheese. I've enjoyed purple kush from green place and a canadian source and am a big fan of its rather unique taste. violets, esp. on exhale! hope this is in stock next time i make it into town.. not sure when that will be as i don't have a job atm.. :?
big buddah cheese (and laughing bhuddha cheese.. i found them similar) is sweet..haven't had a bad batch in 'dam.. definite cheesy understench but sweet, candy and perfumed flavours. happy narcotic high, shortlasting & moreish.
puff- do you know if the two are actually different? What James is calling big buddha cheese #really# seems like a laughing buddha cheese cross.
don't know, sorry :) i think they're probably the same, unless there's big bud lineage :? ..?

We got the best La. Confidential there last summer.
Sitting outside on a warm summer evening, it is one of the best places in the city to people watch.

Total romance novel material there:::: fanning self. Even better though because I prefer reading non fiction ;-)

Oh and easy decision: Coffeeshop all the way. 8)

And man, that guy was surly.

I agree about their terrace- awesome and huge. I would actually go with a group and split a bag of something sometime if we were in the mood to people watch. I love Rembrantsplein. And the weed was good. I'd give the White widow a 7 and the Purple Kush an 8, was of the quality to be a 9 if it had had a little longer cure on it, so good smoking. And the prices were straight market.

Violets!! That's it. Like I said, the taste of this wasn't the strongest, but violet candy is a much more apt description of the flavor than grape, I was having a hard time placing it.

Hmmm...big bud is really dense right? I could imagine a bit of big bud in this. Interesting.

Good luck with your job search!

TC, SS67, Roll, FT and Cisco,

Thanks so much for your kind words. More words on their way soon.

Hopefully we'll all get a chance to meet-up sometime in the dam and I'll get a chance to demonstrate my rapidly improving rolling skills. Princess no more. :D

I think it had been on the menu at MY in october of last year, and the tender might have even recommended it, but I was over-hazed at that point. I'm so glad your report urged me to try it. Such an energetic clear strong high. The lost boys loved it too.

Yeah, I'm not into the orgies either, as much as my Amsterdam set-up reminded me of the "plot" of a bad porno. [one wife, some brothers, amsterdam, vaguely seedy apartment]

Seriously seriously thank you for the kind words. I'm just launching my career as a writer, and it is a bit of a terrifying process at times. It's so reassuring to me when it seems like I'm getting across what I'm trying to convey in words. They are so freakishly limiting.

I can not wait until we get a chance to share a joint!!! (Hug) Love you already!

 Of course coffeeshop! What kind of girl do you take me for :D

When I run out of weed to tell you all about, I'll tell you about how the mr and I got together if you aren't sick of my stories by then. He was such a cutie at 19. It's been over ten years and I just fall deeper and deeper into love with that man.
