Hey Rez,

I wish! You missed my small meltdown, perhaps, in the Travelogue (Before) section. I am in France, after living in another smoker's paradise called California.

The good food and wine are slight compensation.

Back, slightly on topic, with Doog's encounter... That is an all too common experience in some parts of Europe. People shove purses, watches, and pens in your face - and heaven help you if they hear you speak English, you can suddenly be swarmed.

I have yet to make it to A'dam (and I will get there, come hell or high water), but I live in a place with some of these same type of hustlers. I get to practise on them, as much as they get to practise on me.

[teasing]Cripes, that money could have gone towards some caffeine tabs for Doog.

Can you point me in the direction of the bit I missed. Where in France...? I have a really good friend who works near Nice... Val Bonne, Grasse...? He was my traveling buddy on my last 2 trips to A'dam.

I guess I'm lucky (?) with my size, biuld and apperance... especially with a shaved head... NOBODY bothers me  ... I like it that way... and if they did, er, how deep are the canals ?

Sorry Angelo, hope you don't mind if I answer your question
Say Doog, I was going to check out the window seat at Sensi Coffeeshop on my next trip and do some people watching but from what you've written it sounds like they hassle you if you don't keep ordering drink after drink. Is that correct?
The wife and I stopped in a couple of times and never had a problem. Stayed a hour or more and girl behind the counter was really nice. Even got some coasters for a souvenir. It's great because of the corner location with widows all around. Great to check out people, just south of RDL.
Back to Doog and his adventures. Another fine write up Doog, glad to hear your out and about. Very nice to see you were the first person to sign The Book. It was either going to be you or DC. Plus a big shout out to DC for getting such a nice book. Thanks DC. Nes should be on everyone's CS list if your a ACD member. Doog did you leave a mug shot? Party Hard Mi Amigo, this is your last day in the great city, look forward to your final report. AzLaker 8)

Unless he's Russian!

Look them square in the eyes, as he goes to speak, keep walking, shake your head and say ina tone like you've just been woken from a nice sleep to answer the phone 'Niet' , nothing else. They're looking for tourists, even russian ones.

Good to meet Doog, tried to SAS style it in ....until I realised I was talkin to an Aussie from Scotland. :!:

Day Six

Post by Doog »

DC wrote:Good to meet Doog, tried to SAS style it in ....until I realised I was talkin to an Aussie from Scotland.
Yeah DC, looking back at that I didn't exactly give myself away too easily.

Day six was a bit of a quiet one. Didn't go to many places and didn't really smoke much either. Started off after breakfast by takin a walk out and soon arrived at The Doors coffeeshop. This shop had been on my list of places to buy from but I didn't need any more now so I went in anyway and blazed up another silver pearl fatty. (I was desperately trying to get rid of the smoke now).

Sat at the counter puffing away. Music was rap/hip hop so it was loud enough before a family of about ten people piled into the shop. I think one of them was celebrating an 18th birthday or something and they were in the party mood alright.

I had by now finished my joint and my Coke was also nearing the end so I decided to head for a more chilled out spot. I made my exit a bit soon though and hadn't properly recovered from the fatty so I didn't notice that one of the group who came in actually stuck their leg out and sent me flying out the door and on to the road.

They all came out to the door laughing at me, even the guy at the counter. I had a laugh as well before picking myself up and heading back into town. The fall actually made me feel a lot better with the shock thing lifting me right out of my stone.

The highlight of the "trip" so far.

Doog, You certainly have had your share of ups and "downs" (excuse yet another punn)... I am glad that A'dam has been fairly good to you though.

Not sure if you'll be posting before you travel home. But, out of curiosity, what's left from the stash...?

Doog, glad to see you're up and about and making the most of your eventful trip. I agree with Rez_8_ed, how much weed do you have left? Please give us a final report when you get time. Let us know what you would and wouldn't do on your next trip. Looks like a roller coaster week, but you got through it O.K. Have a safe flight home. AzLaker 8)

Day Seven and departure

Post by Doog »

Day Seven, the last day and at this point I still had about half the 5g silver pearl left and most of the 2g Umma Gumma, 2g Super Pollum and 2g Grey Mist Crystals (the Crystals I got from Nuero).

I sort of believe in karma and all this what goes around comes around kind of thing so I went to Nes, knowing that if i was giving hash/weed away then at least DC would get it and he had helped me out a lot.

Started on the Silver Pearl and quickly realised afterwards that there was no way on earth I was going to finish all I had left. So I gave the Umma Gumma and the Super Pollum to DC and he advised me to keep the Silver Pearl and the Crystals and just make my last joints in the hotel silly ones.

A few Gulpeners and goodbyes later and it was time for me to go back to the hotel for the silly joints (great idea DC, had next to nothing left after they were finished.)

Went to bed and got up with a couple of hours to spare before heading to the airport. A little voice inside my head started to speak (I ignored it).
I headed to the airport and I heard the little voice again and even after I got asked to remove my shoes at customs the little voice was becoming bigger.

The little voice was quiet on the actual flight to Glasgow but then started off again when I breezed past customs there with no stop or search or anything.

The little voice said "YOU STUPID AUSSIE DRONGO, NOT ONLY ARE YOU THE HEAVIEST LIGHWEIGHT EVER TO HIT AMSTERDAM BUT YOU COULDN'T EVEN FIND ANYWHERE TO BRING ANY AMOUNT OF ANY SOUVENIRS BACK (LIKE INSIDE YOUR SOCK SO IT DOESN'T FALL OUT WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF)"

I admit that I am disappointed not to have any souvenirs and I am disappointed that the best I could do in Amsterdam was to go to a coffee shop and smoke a decent sized joint then just stand or sit motionless staring into space until I felt safe enough that I could get up and get out or go to the toilet if I liked the place.

Any guys I was supposed to link up with should be happy you didn't meet me. I forgot that I'm not always great company when under the influence.

Great to hear you had fun, with a few minor mishaps along the way. It was good of you to share the highs and lows. You did take some pictures?

Next time around you should consider a travel companion, someone who can pick you up off the pavement instead of doing it yourself.

:D Thanks for the reports! :D

There were no pictures. I ended up forgetting that I had a camera with me and I wouldn't say there were any pictures worth taking anyway.

I can't say that I didn't enjoy myself. I went there to get stoned and I managed that so I got what I came for. You can never complain when that happens.

I suppose seeing a bit of the city and other coffeeshops would have been a nice bonus if I had been more able to handle the effects of the stuff I was smoking.

It just all became like a routine where I was getting up and doing the same stuff at the same time. It was like I was an auto pilot the whole time and I am actually glad that I am home now and can talk about it freely now.

Thanks for all the replies here and the PM's there.
