The Wok? & other places that are bomb & food markets

Post by djdalite »

Last time i was in the Dam it took me about an hour to find just one of these spots, The Wok.

Can someone tell me any easy way to get to one, i will be staying right by Dam Square

Also, any other recommendations?

I like pretty much all cuisine, however im more of a healthy eater, so i dont like any kind of fast food.

Hamburgers, Steaks, Pastas, Pizza, Bakery's

Last but not least. Wheres the best place to shop for food, i like to cook. Love good steaks, chicken, veggies...ect

there are wok to woks around dam square. one on warmoestraat to be specific.

for hamburgers try burger bar near 420/de kuil

steaks..try gauchos off dam square kinda near nes' although its a bit pricey. some of the other argentina steak houses are cheaper.

for grocery's i assume albert hein?

I'd hit up the markets for fresh produce: http://www.amsterdam.info/markets/

For meat I'd give Franks Smokehouse a go: http://www.smokehouse.nl/

For a nice meal try Cafe de Klos: Clicky.

Indian food maybe? try the Balraj: http://www.balraj.nl/

Yeah the Burger Bar is awesome (a friend who is in town at the moment tried the burgermeester place and said it wasn't any better than BB and out the 2 he preffered BB).

For breakfast try: http://www.debakkerswinkel.nl/ theres one down Warmeosstraat, I haven't tried this place as I'm not much of a breakfast eater but I've only heard good things.

I dont eat pancakes either but I imagine most of the pancake places are much the same.

If you want a tasty sandwich try Broodje Berts, amazing BLT: Clicky.

Edit: I really should slap myself, the best frites in Amsterdam have to be tried by everyone: Clicky.
