Watch those dealers!

My wife and I went to her favorite coffeeshop, over the weekend. As she found us a seat I waited in line, to buy weed, with 3 male tourists in front of me. I usually watch dealers and how they weigh the herb. The 3 guys in front of me each ordered 3 grams. I watched the dealer take the plastic container from the scales and the digital display read -41.86, once the container was removed. He put the container back on the scales and the display read 0.71, then he quickly proceeded to add the weed to the container, and weigh out the 3 grams. I watched him do this for each one of the 3 customers. The tourists paid no attention to what the dealer was doing. If only 1 gram had been ordered, I'm sure these tourists would have noticed the difference.

When it was my turn to be served, I watched him try and do the same thing to me. I asked him to zero it out after he put the container on the scales. He just looked at me kinda funny and zeroed it out.

My point is, watch those dealers when they are weighing your purchase! I dont know if what I witnessed was accidental or not. I tend to think not by the way he looked at me. Be careful out there! :D Peace.

(I purposely did not give the name of the shop cause I think this could happen anytime, anyplace; by accident or not)

if you are with a group or can offer it yourself, get a scale for your trip. there are not too much that weigh you wrong, but I have seen the same thing Puffin describes in Abraxas, which is usually rated high.

Interesting story Puffin.

Remember that dealers are their as a customer service role, make sure they're playing by the rules and treating you with the decency a customer should be treated with.

Thats fine if you drive into Holland but I doubt many of us who fly would want to travel with a scale, for the record I dont rate Abraxas at all.

I really think the coffeeshop should be named and shamed.

How much for a cheap set of scales ?

Cheaper the better.

As i would like to weight my bag just before accepting the weed.

Call it cheeky, but i call it a matter of trust, if its spot on, then the guy won't have a problem.

Like the lad above said, shitholes who try this do need be named n shamed, is disgraceful.

To be honest if I felt that I had to wop out some scales and weigh the weed in a coffeeshop I would just avoid the place altogether.
I only frequent places where I feel happy that I wont get ripped off. To be honest, i mainly buy from just 4 coffeeshops now but if I was to walk into one and feel i might be getting ripped off I would leave before parting with any cash.

However, if this is the route you would like to take, you can buy scales from the UK from about 15 quid. I should think you'll be able to pick a set up in Dam for around the €20 mark.

wudnt advise to take scales to Amsterdam.

id buy them there.

And thats spot on what your saying, i wish i was more restricted in a way, but also not, you gotta trust a little but, when its thrown back at you in an underweight bag.

Rather not buy the scales, but we'll see

as above. Someone I know, took scales to adam and got pulled by customs at the airport. When the scales went through the sensor machine, it detected minute organic matter on the scales. Guy in question said the dust was only leftover thc dustings that was hardly residue from a previous weigh, and could hardly be seen anyway... they gave him a hard time to say the least...

Organic Matter Sensors, bah! Humbug! :?

I would never take a scale back with me, but why not make this a community thing?
Maybe some local (soulrider,DC,puffin..?) would be able to keep the scale for us. And if anyone is in town who needs it, can arrange a meet with the guy holding the scale....well this could be one way :)

@turd:
I dont remember which one it was, sorry, was 2 years ago.
