Stupid, Fat, Arrogant Americans
This is a small sampling of Australians and their criticisms and stereotypes of Americans. Take it for what it is. Some in the video say that Americans are arrogant, little do they know that in labeling another country as arrogant you're being arrogant yourself. There really is a fine line you need to walk when using that word. The girls that are dressed up like fairies in the video need to take a serious look in the mirror. Everything they say could easily be said about themselves. I think if this same thing was done in America, but asking about Australians instead you would get much less hatefull responses. The last question in the video is quite humorous. "Have you ever been to America?"

I dunno if calling people arrogant means you are arrogant, i call my miss's sugartits, but that dosnt mean i have sugartits. Tbh guys, and this is meant with no offensive, this is harsh reality of what alot of people view America as. There are many nice americans, and the ones i have personally met have been great people and good ambassadors for the country, but it only takes one typical ' yank stereotype ' to destroy the efforts of many.

I'm not saying just because you call someone arrogant, you are arrogant. Let's just say when people rattle off these stereotypes of Americans they have a tendency to sound extremely arrogant. I could read those smug grins on their faces as they slammed America. To be honest I think every person in the video came across as arrogant, except for the guy in the San Fransisco sweatshirt he just looked lost.

Here's a bunch of interviews that some Australian comedians conducted in the states, good for a laugh:

That other video is pretty damning for those people that participated, gutted to be them.

Two different perspectives i guess man, tbh, i didnt view them as arrogant. This is because the views expressed are commonly held in my experience, i think the rattling of stereotype is a right, but a wise man said that stereotypes a based on uncomfortable truths. I always thought arrogance was overbearing pride evidenced by a superior manner toward inferiors. So i dont really see it like that, more talking shit than anything.Stanky Danky wrote:I'm not saying just because you call someone arrogant, you are arrogant. Only because a lot of them don't know where Australia is.I think if this same thing was done in America, but asking about Australians instead you would get much less hatefull responses.
I think America's image has actually improved lately since the removal of Bush and If they finally legalize weed, everybody will love them. Until they drag us all into Iran.

That's too funny. Obama bin Laden's approval rating is dropping faster than my girl's knickers after a 4-pack of wine coolers. By the time he's through in 2012 he'll have the distinction of being the worst US president since Carter the peanut farmer!DC wrote:I think America's image has actually improved lately since the removal of Bush and If they finally legalize weed, everybody will love them. Isnt that due to him bowing to the republicans though, i thought the drop would of been due to the left actually getting pissed off with him? If thats the case i assume it wouldnt affect the results of voting, because the left would surely want a democrat in rather than a republican, even if its a moderate one? Its just a case of winning the un-decideds back right? Surely hes got a long way to go before he reaches the depths of Nixons and Bush's time?DazedandConfusedinOR wrote:That's too funny. Obama won primarily due to the fact that many Americans had quite enough of George Bush and the Republican party. Pair that with McCain's selection of Sarah Palin and the GOP had no chance in 2008.Sir Niall of Essex-sire wrote:Isnt that due to him bowing to the republicans though, i thought the drop would of been due to the left actually getting pissed off with him? Obama, not unlike any other politician anywhere in the world, made many promises: Shut down Gitmo, end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, improve the image of the US throughout the world, healthcare for all, create jobs etc, etc, etc. It's easy to make promises, nearly impossible to keep them. He's pissed everyone off and he definitely has his work cut out for him in 2012.

Where did I say it was Obama that improved it. The removal of Bush improved it...maybe after the removal of Obama in 2012 it might improve again, unless of course, he decides to cheat his way into another term.DazedandConfusedinOR wrote:That's too funny.
