I have never tried any of the special bon-bons this shop is well known for but it is a small cosy shop with an upstairs room (typical narrow staircase) which at night has a great view of Spuistraat lit up below.

I can't remember what weed I bought here but I know I wasn't dissapointed - and the hot chocolates were perfect for warming up the winter chill.

Only been once but that'll change pretty soon! Try the Choco-Mist very nice you also get some little plastic coins to save up and when you get so many (I forgot how many - what a surprise) you get a free bag of weed!

Nothing new to report on this place, I just wanted to give it my support.
The choco-mist (as already said) is amazing and one of my fave weeds on my last time over

Had the Chocolta space cake during 04 Cannabis Cup. Wonderful cake, they had a picture of it in the High Times covering the event.
Went back and had the ChocoMist, which was wonderful.
Great place a lil small, but owell.

My first visit I tried a single bob-bon and felt nothing. So, a few days later I had a whole piece of Chocolate Hash Cake, a half piece of vanilla hash cake and a bob-bon and again felt nothing. All together there were 7 of us that ate hash cake and bon-bons from chocolata and only one person felt anything.

I can't comment on the shop per se, since I was incredibly stoned when I got there. I just remember walking in and buying some of the space bon-bons while my friend bought a piece of the space cake. Apparently the space cake was real weak, but the bon-bons were GOOOOOOD...I ate 3 of them after already being really stoned, and when I layed down back at the hostel a half hour later, I started getting a really sweet body high. I wish I had only bought more of those little candies. I recommend them. Stop by chocolata if you are in Amsterdam; they have all kinds of THC food for you to try!

i have been to amsterdam on several occasions, (im lucky enough to live an hour away on the plane) and on the last two i have stayed in the budget hotel which is next door but one to "the doors" coffee shop and just over spuirstaat from "chocolata".
on both visits to this shop i found the staff very warm and welcoming and the smoke to be of a decent quality. the cake too is one to recommend, i have had a few lost moments thanks to the vanilla space cake, a slice of that washed down with a blunt and a cup of coffee. it may not be condusive to an energetic day, think lethargic, but it sure makes it fun!! i do have one small complaint though, and if you have been there you will agree. that spiral staircase that leads you upstairs is a deathtrap!!lol, seriuosly though, have you ever tried negotiating it with a headful of magic mushrooms???if you have then you will agree with me!! personally i found it rather amusing but i can see myself having an accident there!still, i will be back in there during my next planned visit in may 06.
keep up the good work!!.
other deviate recommendations are the grasshopper, near centraal/ the doors, almost opposit chocolata, spuirstaat/ the bushdoctor, near the eden hotel along the amstel and finally the oldchurch, heart of the redlight.
happy and safe smoking. laters.
here for a good time, not a long time. deviate, 2k6

Was there yesterday and the atmosphere was fine - they let us smoke our own as we sat there for a pitstop. Can't give much more detail as we weren't there for long.
