Yes, I finally broke down and spent 69 bucks and got the Hawaiian Celebration lavastone pipe with a 22kt gold bowl...leaves nothing but white ash. I opted for the outer bowl coating to be Platinum, but had I known they used such a pure metal, Id never have done that, cuz 22kt platinum wears off easily from the high-Fire ceramique composing the base of the bowl area. Next time, I will either get the opal, black opal or the original Lanai Blue.
At fist I was bummed when polishing with velvet made some platinum wear away, but no matter, this pipe smokes so clean, does not get remotely hot anywhere except inside the bowl. The lava stone absorbs the heat so well, its almost like the cooling effect a bong has, but not quite that cooled. Worn platinum spot aside, Ive never owned a Spoon type pipe that even approaches this. There are a whole lot of amazing, beautiful, and durable as hell ceramic pipes out there now.
I doubt I will ever buy glass again. The ceramic I saw at my shop had a sample that said on it "Sample, please drop, or throw to the ground." You cant break em, clean tasting as any glass, doesnt get hot, and best of all for me, the "Broken Pipe Glass Champion" of the last 3 yrs, this is huge. I hope if anyone gets a chance, try a quality stoneware ceramic pipe, and if you want to REALLY treat yourself, The Hawaiian Celebration Pipe has no equal, in my 34th yrs as a smoker, I can say that they mean it when they say it is No Ka Oi, in literal Hawaiian it can be translated as It is Best or None Can Surpass.

congrats on the pipe dude. i may have to try one. im not a big pipe smoker but if they made a bubbler i'd be all for it. i could use a new reg pipe though. so maybe i'll take a look at these when i decide to buy.
for me though breakable or not glass wins. i dont think any method of smoking can provide the hit/seal of that of a well blown gong piece. not to say id never get a ceramic piece though.
