Trip report as i THINK it happened

Hi all, Got back yesterday and everthing is very much still a blur and im still a little high

DAY 1

Rookies
Rookies special - €9/g
Budda-Cheese - €12/g a little steep but well worth it, just not as your first smoke i say
Northen Lights - €9/g(i think)

Katsu

AK-47 - €20/2.something
Amnes. Haze - € cant remember but cheap!
Orange bud - € again cant remember but good and cheap
Blackwidow - Monster high off this yet you just want to sleep
SoGuda - very nice mellow high but still gives you an energy buzz.
OG18-

All of Katsu stock is prebagged so just have a few €20s ready and smoke away

The trip started with a text msg about 25 min to early(7am) and got me out of bed meaning no time for a shower or anything before flying out. Im a very nervious flyer so spending extra time in the airport is not something i like but that was all out done by the epicness of the flight being 65min with a great tail wind working its hardest to get us there early After landing and collecting bags and shit it was straight out the door and into a taxi. we were thinking about getting a train and tram but we worked it out for an extra € each a taxi straight to leidseiplein was the the quicker and better option for us(lazy gits i kniow!)

First stop was into a head shop to pic up some supplies like, bong, grinders and papers for the trip. we picked up a very good glass bong for €65(i think) and headed straight to Rookies for some "lunch". Between the 5 of us we picked up some Rookies special, Budda-Cheese and northen lights. I dont know if it was first joint syndrome, the early start or just looking so forward to the first splif of the trip and the fact i swore to use as little mixers as i could this trip and smoke pure but FOOOOOOOOK me the Budda-Cheese is a winner of a weed. It was a instant high and very much a head fuck right there. I was tripping balls after half a joint and was in no functioning state at all. Quickly looked at the menu to be very let down by the fact there was no milkshakes on the menu, so we ordered a round of smoothies. soon after 2 of the lads went to collect the keys for the apartment while we rolled up an other j each just to kill time. It was at this stage things really started to turn for me. i was still in a bad way aftert the first smoke of BC and a few drags of Rookies. I remembers sitting there looking at the table but i could see things from a few different angles....its was so trippy. it felt like we where sitting about an hour waiting for the keys to arrive but the two lads swear they were only gone 15min at the most.

After a short break and a smoke in the apartment it was on to katsu and the supermarket. because supermarket times were working against us it was a quick shop and go from katsu. I had planned what to buy in Katsu long before even gettin on the plane but was in for a shock when i got there the menu had changed! This kinda ruined Katsu for me because the other had their orders got and were out the door waiting and the dark girl behind the counter looked a little pissed off i was taking so long to look over the menu.
I SO wanted to try the Icecream but wasn't top be so between us we picked up AK-47, Am-Haze, Orange bud,(il think of the rest when i ask the lads what they had). The AK and the Haze were awesome, nice mellow highs and well able to work after it. They Orange bud was so mellow it was perfect for what i needed and some what sorted my head just in time to cook dinner for the group.

after dinner and a few more smokes it was at this stage i kinda thought to myself(and prob told the group) thank fuck i dont have tickets for the slash gig and i get to just chill. the loud music and the flashing lights would have been way too much for me. 2 of the group headed off to the gig so we headed to rookies to chill and enjoy the night, I pre-rolled a J of AK and Haze mixed together and it went down very well sitting at the counter. Afer more of the BC it all started again and i was tripping shit again! Hot choc with cream and sorted, heads right but time was catching up with us and sleep was needed. Midnight arrived and i decided i would be the first to give in and some how walk the 200 yards back to the apartment and up 3 flights of stairs. Lucky for me the lads had the same idea and didn't need much talking round to come home too. as i left Rookies i actually remember a bit of a stumble and grabbing some random dude by the arm. thank god he was understanding about it.
When we got home it was all about getting into comfy gear and flaking out. Soon aftert the lads arrived back from the gig and were in no way what so ever shocked to see us there, We watched a few DVDs(all of east bound and down) a bite to eat and off to bed for the night.

Day 2.

Super Silver Haze- Very strong lemon flavor to it
Mexican Haze- I wasn't to fond of this in a joint but made for awesome bong hits

Day 2 started with a shockingly early awakening at 7am for no reason what so ever i just woke up full of beans so had to get out of bed. after sitting watching the morning hustle and bustle of the square for a while i saw our bong sitting beside me, took a small hit then decided it was time for the mornings 3 Ss (shit, smoke and a shower)

About 11am the 5 of us were up so food time it was. I dont mind cooking at all but when your high is a hell of a job and even worse when the cooker has no markings for its oven what so ever, so it becomes a bit of a pain in the ass. Sausages, Hashbrowns, Fried eggs and fresh baked bread rolls for all it was.

I also decided today i would try save myself a little and mix my joints a little. After falling apart on the first day i had to keep my head about me some what because we had planned alot more walking

Soon after it was time to pick up a bit more weed so we walked around to Rokerij. A very nice shop with a very friendly budguy, as soon as i saw the laughing budda on the menu i asked to see it and fell in love. A very nice high that basically does what it says on the thin, Oh how i was laughing.
The Sour D had a hell of a tang to it and tbh i didn't really enjoy it so when joints of it were being passed around i tried make sure i always had something in my hand.

After a few more smokes and a bit of lunch we had a fairly big choice on out hands as from the time of booking we said we would have one nights drinking over there but just not the last night of the trip because flying with hang overs aint good. So over a few too many smokes to actually make up my mind on what to do i just said "fine with what ever, lets go drinking." I rolled 3 joints to bring out with me incase i felt like a smoke but forgot to mix them so i was back to pure joints . so before we gayed up and went drinking in a smoking city it was over to Dampkring to pick up more stock. I still had a good bit of weed left so i wanted a nice hash and when i saw King Hassan on the menu at €7.50
i jumped at it because i paid €11/g in barneys last year for it. straight home to skin and blaze up a King Hassan and laughing budda mix. WOW what a combo! The bud guy noticed myself and a friend were both wearing tops with midnightclub.ie on it and asked about it, after explaining it was a car club in ireland he told me a little history of his cars and man i was impressed. every thing from cudas to 911gt


A while later and yet an other amazing shower it was drinking time. we headed to the Watering hole, Iv not been to many bars in Amsterdam but this one just fell straight into the image i had in my head. Dark, Loud but still very very cool. We sat outside with our beers watching the tallent go by (there really is some serious women about Amsterdam and a large amount of bait of the jail too.) and the the loudest Harley i have ever heard pulled in beside us rumbling so much it was almost orgasmic to an engine nut like myself. Im very fussy about my beer as i normally drink Guinness but dont like it outside of Ireland so i was drinking fairly slow trying to get in the mood for it but soon reached into the inside pocket and sparked up a fat spliff of AK47 and Laughing budda, 10 min later i told the lads a drinking night was not on the cards for me but id still tag along and have a few smokes and cokes, At this point i noticed i was either the only one of us who was not affraid to speak up and know when to call it a day or the lads just say yes to ANYTHING that has been suggested in the last 10 min of their memory span and with that 2 of the other lads said they didn't fancy drinking either and wanted to go to rookies to chill. the 2 other lads were still 100% having a drinking night. We made a quick detour to Mc D's on the way for a Mc Krocket, Deep fried gravey is the best way to describe it so i guessed it had to be a complete stoner to come up with thte product and present it to his boss.

When we made it to rookies the 2 lads came in for a smoke before going to find a bar for the night. 5 hot choc and cream ordered as we sat in the corner looking at the Valcano on the bar. I was trying to convince the lads to split a bag between us but it was a no go and they just wanted to have a spliff or two and get a good nights sleep in.
We left Rookies about 12:45 and walked back to the apartment but grabbed a spacecake on the way out the door for a little midnight snack. the guys arrive home from the bar about 3am to an apartment overcome by a cloud of smoke and my near shitting myself laughing watching transformers. Laughing budda bong hits are epic and kept me up till 6am laughing

We must be kindred spirits--it was my intention to hunt down some Laughing Buddha when I was over, as a friend of mine ( Cough ) is growing a couple at the moment and wanted a preview of things to come as it were. Now you have pointed me to the Rokerij, another local shop for me, although the Rokerij seems ok for weed quality , not too many people like it I think as a nice coffeeshop being so close to the Leidesplein and thus pretty crowded ( If indeed is is the Leidensplein shop you are referring to ) so it seems I shall be following in your footsteps from Rookies to Rokerij, unless someone can definately recommend a better Laughing Buddha ---and even tho I say it myself, Scottish Guinness is rather tasty too, still everyone to their own as they say---nice trip report so far--keep us posted.

PS how was the cake from Rookies, my wife is after some cakes etc as she is anti smoking, Rookies will be my local next week as it were and it would be a handy tip if yourself or someone could give me a tip on the cakes

TBH mate i cant tell you what effect the cake had because i was monged as it was. Yeah its the Rockerij just off Leids. where i got the LB, we didn't stay just shoped and went on a walk but of all the weeds we got there it was all good stuff and service with a smile too.

Day 3 - The blur deepens

Crush

Dark Star - 2g €19- a strong smokey weed that really has no flavor.
Chocolop - €10/g - not as good as other Chocolop iv tried, a little dissapointed with it
Jack Herer - €7/g good weed but not great.

Day 3 started with very little sleep and a bong hit of blackwidow to top it off. We had so much weed between the 5 of us it would have silly to buy much more so it was a nice slow morning just sitting in comfy gear, eating shit and getting even higher untill about 14:00 when we decided to go on a walk and flake out in the park for a bit. The sun wash shining and the amount of women about tempting the wandering eye is not funny. before i even sat down in the park i sparked a LB and Am. Haze mix fromthe 10 pre rolled we brought out with us. smoked half of it and passed it on only to be greeted by a pure orange bud coming my way. a few more tokes of some random smokes and then had a little nap in the sun
By the time we were set to actually move after smoking 10 joints in 3 hrs i wanted to go to crush to see what weeds they had because for some reason i thought i was running low. When we got there we stood looking like pure planks trying to find the door into the place, only for some english guy to walk out and laugh saying he did the same too.
Got to the counter to ask for something and be told by the bud guy who really didn't have a clue about his weed that he doesn't have half the stock on the menu. one of the guys asked about blueberry and bluecheese and was there anything in common with them and they budguy answered something really stupid and childish. i cant remember but i wanted to walk out of the shop then.
i grabbed some Dark Star and enjoyed it but iv had alot better weeds so i decided id just stick it in the bong and smoke it in one big go.

One of the lads offered to cook dinner so i had the night off so made a HUGE tulip with 3/4 weeds mixed into it and some home made brownies for dessert
After dinner we took a little stock of what weed and hash we had left and there was just a stupid amount sitting there sonsidering we had some thing like 18 hrs to our flight. we tried our best to get tru it but it wasn't happen so i took one last stab at trying to get the lads to do a vaypo bag in rookies, they didn't go for it tho. so it was down to good old fashioned chain smoking and getting rid of it.
Then i saw one of the funniest thing of my life. Two of the lads were planning a trip to the RLD but on got so baked he just went to bed instead so Chris got so pissed off after an hour of jumping on the bed trying to wake him he cleaned the WHOLE apartment because he was horney and pissed off......WTF????
a while later i had to concide and just stop smoking for the night.

Day 4 - Going home time

We had a 15:10 flight but had to out of the apartment by 11 so there was time to kill. We had breakfast in the sports cafe beside the bulldog. nice food at a good price but soft drinks were shocking.
After breakfast we still had some time to kill so went to to rookies again and they guys didn't mind that we were not buying weed as long as we bought soft drinks, I got an orange juice, freshly squeezed to order. we rolled a smoke each for in there and one for the airport. We still had the issue of our bong and what to do with it and i remembered a little advise from this forum and aske the guys behind the bar if they would like to hold on to it for other members to use on their trips. The guys seemed pleased with the bong and a bit taken aback by the fact we wanted to give them it.
as we were leaving for the airport the two guys made sure to say good bye to us and again thank us for the bong


So guys if your in the dam and looking for a good bong but dont fancy paying for it to be left there call into rookies and ask about ours.

Thanks for such an entertaining report. Great read. Rookies is a sweet shop, the Mrs and I liked it. Their deserts are awesome and the house herb is usually pretty decent.

STE- I couldn't agree more- the women in Amsterdam are beautiful beautiful. The eye candy for the ladies isn't bad either. There are a lot of beautiful tall fair men wandering around in slim pants and nice shoes too. yum.

Thanks for sharing your report- this trip the SD wan't working for me either. I actually gave away the rokerij sour diesel that I bought- I don't think it was just the taste you objected to- something hadn't been quite right nutrient-wise in the cooking of that particular batch I'm pretty sure. Very harsh in a way that's not a normal attribute of SD.

If anyone is looking for something great and sour right now, the Sleeze (formerly Sleezestack) at Mellow Yellow and noon is looking gangbusters and smelling like sick.
