Stupid Question Time

Post by Gandj »

Hi,

My wife and I are heading off to Amsterdam next week for a few days having never been there before. We are keen to try out the coffee shop culture but having never smoked before we are a bit catious. I have read that the Dutch stuff is quite potent but generally the budtenders are helpful, is this correct?

Also, having never smoked it before let alone rolled one, can you buy pre rolled (either that or make a fool of myself)?

Any advice gratefully recieved.

just explain this to the bud dealer they will look after you. most coffeeshops sell pre rolls (they will get you stoned but rather weak which might be a bonus for you 2) also maybe consider buying some and going back to hotel for first try, might be alot stronger than you think. if theres a toke and talk go to it (dont be shy ACDer's are great people) if theres none maybe set one up yourself.. and remember to watch out for those bloody bikes when stoned. if theres any places you really want to go to give me hotel name and i could make you a few maps?? Have a Great Trip!!

Welcome to the forum.

What dates will you be in Amsterdam?
I'll post you on the Whos In Town page.
You can see who else may be in town and any Toke & Talks that are planned.

How easy is it to roll a joint? And what do I need other than roll up papers? I'm sure I have heard something about using a 'roach' as cannavis burns hotter than tobacco. Is there an idiots guide? I'm keen to be able to try out some stronger stuff later on in the trip and not just be stuck with the weaker pre-rolls.

Its a meet and greet set up by people on here.

I'm over in AMS from Thursday to Sunday...I am by myself for Thursday and most of Friday, I would be happy to meet up and share a joint or two.

Let me know on here or PM me a mobile number.

Cheers,

Narve.

rolling joints aint the easiest thing to do. there are aids like rolling machines or rolling mats that can help, worth buying a little bit of smoke and trying to roll a few before you go.
toke and talks : well you meet stoners from all over the world have a little toke and exchange best buys and places to stay away from maybe go on a coffeeshop crawl. and if your lucky meet up with gapie who lives in dam and i gather has met half of all the the ACD members through toke & talks

Yes, the budtenders are generally helpful.

I would advise you to take it slowly and make sure as a first-timer that you don't mix cannabis with alcohol. Also, you can go into a coffee shop and not purchase cannabis. I would suggest that you go and purchase a couple of drinks, some shops make great coffee, hot chocolate, or milkshakes. Once you've been there a while and feel comfortable, then you can try the cannabis. One possibility would be for one of you to smoke at a time. That way you would have a "designated guide" to oversee the experience. As for smoking in your hotel room, that is a good idea if your hotel is smoker friendly, but a lot of them aren't.

Have a great trip and welcome to the coffee shop community!

Thanks for the advice guys, much to think about.

As my wife has the homing ability of a brick, either I'll have to abstain or just take the risk and share a joint with her. Will definately take it easy but looking to make the most of our time there with a mixture of what the city has to offer.

Will let you know how it goes. I've made a list of the shops I want to check out, will see what they are like and then choose what we like and feel comfortable in.

Probably be online during our trip so stand by for some stoned postings!!!

A Toke & Talk is a meet and greet with an Amsterdam twist.

You have been posted on the October Whos In Town page.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Or post one of your own. All I need is a date, time, and coffeeshop to post it.
There is one the evening of your arrival day.

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/membe ... le&u=72586

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.
