I've been coming here for over twenty years. I think I have advanced a little beyond a tourist. Louise, my hostess looks upon me as a stepson. So that in itself makes me quasi Dutch. My friend/boss in the US is Louise's real son and drills me almost daily on all things Dutch.moby69 wrote:Are you not a tourist ?

Not to be out of order.
But either you are or you aren't.
I have family in Berghem and I stayed in Alphen aan den Rijn for a while , but no matter how many times I visit I'm still a tourist.
Even with a Dutch boss .
If you don't stay there , you are indeed a tourist sorry.
I always chuckle when people on here bang on about touristy places , when they've just stepped off a plane from the States or the UK.
Anyone who isn't a resident is sorry to say a tourist , which there is nothing wrong with incidentally.
This is not a flame so please don't take it that way, It's just a fact.

the guy told you how well he knew Amsterdam, he knows people there and stuff, ... that aint a tourist , i'd call it a regular visitor.
