Hi Doog, I spent quite a while looking at that pic, it certainly tickled me.Doog wrote:Top quality post and link there Rez, great laugh. Probably the best coffeeshop photo out of all of the ones on the ACD site. A photographer's dream come true.

Greenhouse Effect
This is my favourite coffeeshop in amsterdam for 3 reasons
1. Its the only place i know that sells nevilles haze and ak47
2. my missus left her purse there (wed been smoking nevilles haze all morning) and they found a marriott roomkeycard inside, they phoned the marriott and when we had it back all the money/cards were still there
3.Eminem and 50 cent named it the best coffeeshop of their amsterdam tour

Er....I think a couple of people are getting the Greenhouse and the Greenhouse Effect mixed up.
And "stars" such as Fiddy and Eminem regularly go there because it's the closest coffeeshop to the Grand Hotel, where they usually stay when in town.
My ten penneth? Great gear, if expensive, nice place but too close to the RLD and as such can be a bit moody.

I stayed at the Greenhouse effect this weekend, and it is a good hotel with themed rooms and a good coffee shop, apart from it being a bit on the small/narrow side.
We used the bar area as a base start in the morning, having breakfast and a joint or 2 before going cafe crawling, tried the Northern Lights for my first smoke, and it went down a treat, and later purchased some special and NYCD Haze, as well as a pure pre-rolled joint which was good.

A couple of us stopped a night at the GE in the Tropical room in May 2006. A good-sized room with a great view across the canal to Damrak. We found the coffeeshop friendly and relaxed. Can't remember what we bought - some green and some solid, like you do - but it was thoroughly enjoyable, like it usually is. We had a nice relaxed breakfast with plenty going on around to amuse a stoned diner. They offered to keep our luggage until our evening flight, which saved a lot of pain. It's in a good spot, a walk from the Centraal Station, handy for near everything, and with some good eating places around.
