late trip report (Dec 05)

Post by mlester187 »

Hello everyone!
I know this is really late but I just booked my next trip to the dam and you know how excited that can make you!
So I flew out for one night to visit my cousin (and to smoke some very nice weed!)
I was checked into my hotel with no problems by 10.30 am. My first stop was the Greenhouse. I've been rather disappointed by this place on my last few trips but it's really close to my hotel so I always seem to end up here first (I generally do not return). I had a look at a few strains and decided upon 1g of Nevilles Haze and 1g of LA Con. The NH was ok, I found it fast acting (according to my notes though it was not overpowering in taste) but that may well have been because I hadn't eaten for hours! The LA Con was really nice: strong and very tasty.
My next stop was one of my favourite coffeeshops: Hunters. Now I know there has been a lot of beef on this forum involving Hunters with the underweighing issue etc. but I have always been a huge fan of this place. Never had BAD weed from here...>EVER (there are only a few places I can honestly say that about). The Amnesia Haze here has always been out of this world. Unfortunately they only had shake left (No Thanks!) so I got 1g Chocolope and 1g Himalaya Cream (E18!!!) The chocolope was really tasty and powerful as always. The Himalaya Cream was good, definitely not worth E18, but none the less was still very good hash.
Next: Grey Area :-) Another of my favourite places. Grey Haze is probably my favourite strain in the whole city (partly because it was the first thing I ever smoked in the 'Dam) and it didnt fail to impress. I got 2g of GH (fantastic smoke in every way), 1g of Strawberry Kush and 1g of Simpsons Kush. The Simpsons Kush was definitely the better of the two, it had that difinitive 'kush taste' as I called it. Both were very strong but I'd say the Simpsons was stronger and tastier. After a Falafel from the corner shop near GA I headed towards Bushdoctor for some of their overpowered Ice Hashes. On the way I was geting thirsty (and in need of a joint) so i popped into a palce I've never seen before on Spuistraat called 'New Times' - anyone been in? I was very impressed! A ver clean, modern place with wooden floors and tables. VERY CLEAN (I was impressed as most CS's are filthy IMO). They had internet access. I sat down with a joint of GH, a fruity drink and a cup of tea....heaven. Whilst smoking I thought I'd have a look at the menu. Pretty standard, but I noticed a top shelf hash (Tbizla - E11). Excellent purchase. Mouth watering aroma, scent and taste. Great high.
I eventually made it to bushdoctor and had a look at a few ice hashes. From past experience I had to get 1g Kushadellic Ice (E55) and 1g OG Honeycomb Ice(E55). I was prepared to spend a little more though so I looked a little futher. Ended up also buying 1g of Gran Daddy butter (E60!!). The Gran Daddy is not like a butter hash Ive ever had before. it was not wet or 'liquidy' it was dry but VERY soft. This is the strongest thing I've ever smoked. It has that amazing organic taste and smell. The amount of smoke that was coming off the joint was RIDICULOUS. The other two were still very good. The kushadellic was not as good as it was in August. It was black (it was light gray in August?! - can anyone shed some light on why this is?
Was pretty fooked at this point so decided to retire for a short nap. I woke up very hungry and decided to hit Buger Bar....mmmmmm. Delicious Kobe burger. Fully refreshed I hit Barneys. Was desperate to try the cup winner. I went in wanting to buy 1g of that and have a look around for something else. This is another shop I find very hit and miss. The Tangerine Dream was actually excellent. Nothing else looked worthy of the extautionate prices so I got antoher gram of Tangerine. BTW the tangerine dream was probably the smoke of the trip - very very impressed.
I spent the next day smoking bits of what I had left but also went ot Hunters and got a gram of SSH which I thought would last me the day.....it didnt. I found myself back in hunters a few hours later looking for a nice indica. He was trying to push some variant of blue cheese on me (I find most budtenders do this. I am adamant that I can get much better cheese in the UK so I dont bother with it out there any more - I tried it in August and was very unimpressed). I noticed they had chronic. I grew this about 1 year ago - very well if i may add (",) sow as interested to see how theirs was as it too was bio. I'm not trying to blow my own trumpet but their chronic had absolutely nothing on what I made. It was, however very nice.
So my trip came and went in a flash as it always does :-(
Hope people enjoyed this shrot bud report.
My next trip is planned for the end of Jan and I will try to get the report up faster next time.

You give nice sense of speed in your writing which i guess your trip must have felt like being so short. Very interested in the Butter, would like to give that a try one day in the future (need to work my tolerance up a little otherwise flashing lights are in my future). Thanks for the enjoyment.

it was dry but VERY soft
i have a space case grinder, the grandaddy reminds in texture of the kif that collects in the bottom- like fine-textured dust thats been compressed together a bit.

also v interested to try tbliza from new times.

I've got a space case too and said the exact same thing to a mate when I got back! REALLY REALLY soft!
The Tbizla was definitely the surprise of the trip - definitely going to get some more on my next trip (less than 4 weeks!!!)
