22-25th of April 2011 - Amsterdam round 2!

Well, after a shaky couple of months which have included me losing my job and this Amsterdam trip looking over before it even started, I now have a new job and I can finally say with certainty this trip will happen.

I'm going with 3 non smokers and just myself as a smoker so it will be a different vibe to last time (3 total cainheads) but I still can't wait. Mrs sikz smokes a tiny bit but we're literally talking one or two tokes on a joint so I can't really include her in my smokers list :p. We arrive on Friday the 22nd at about midday, I know it's a bank holiday but the trains and CS's should be running/open (I hope! Can someone confirm?) and I really can't wait

We have a nonsmoking appartment booked but it has its own rooftop terrace where I intend on smoking into the small hours

I'm interested in hearing if any ACDers have gone in similiar nonsmoking parties and didn't find it too awkward, my only fear is being completely vegetablized and letting everyone else down :p I generally find mixing weed and beer a bad idea and a very good way of having an early night so I won't be able to drink too much, and there's no way I can give the weed a miss as I'm in Amsterdam!

Still, can't wait If anyone is around that weekend and fancies a joint, let me know

If your on the beers just smoke sativas and dont overload the joints and you will be fine. I always finds it helps to have beer spliff beer splif, not splif beer splif beer. The worst thing is to drink 10 pints then start smoking as that will knock you out. have a beer to start and then spliff and so on

I am glad on your behalf ... I'm in the same situation, but unfortunately I have not found new work. yet ... but even if I have to sell a kidney, there are approximately 0% chance that I miss 420
and hope to bring a surprise .. the really good kind

Pretty much what he says, NEVER & NEVER go drinking beer on an Indica as it will propper fuck your head up after only 4 or 5 pints lol. The sativas on the other hand have never given me any problems when drinking beer. But I'd also add just keep to 1 beer for every joint upto no more than 4 beers per session or then the beer takes a grip.

Also I have been on a Dam trip as an only smoker in a party of 4. Probably the worst trip of the lot. Not saying I never enjoyed it as I did. Just from the smoking point of view I only did about 20% of the smoking & coffeeshop visiting that I intended to. As the others were into the beer and RLD scene. In some ways going on a trip with others who are into different things will never give you the expectations you expect as you will all have different ineas on what you want to do when there.

But in saying that I'd sooner go a trip with non smokers doing what I can if thats the only option I have to go at all.

Sorry if it dont fill you with much confidence, but you did ask. Just make the best of the time you have there

Just stick to bars that allow weed (the Nes being the best obviously), if drinking & smoking isn't your thing just dont drink (I'm fortunate enough to be able to drink anything I want and carry on smoking with no ill effect).

The trains/coffeeshops will be up & running when you're there so dont worry about that.

I'll try the beer reefer combo and see how it goes, hopefully I don't end up comatose

@badbone: don't mean to sound condescending(sp?) but you'll find something mate, I literally applied for 100+ jobs in a week or so doing anything and everything and the one I got actually pays ok money so I'm happy enough
