It was all a bit mental around there this afternoon

Idiots.....
They must find it difficult, those who have taken authority as truth, rather than truth as authority

The Dutch rozzers seemed well-prepared. Tram 9 filled up with fans singing loudly & drunkenly at Spui, and about a dozen uniforms got on each end at Muntplein.

At times like this I don't want anyone knowing I'm a Brit.

Sport has lost its meaning when enjoyment is lost. Coming from a different sporting culture, we Aussies see this as madness. (Although mention Fords and Holdens, that's a different story) We would see this as a blow to the teams reputation. The fans are as important as a team over here and acting like this is disrespectful to the team. It would bring shame and embarassment. Has the teams ever stepped in and told their fans that they hurt their rep? or is this good for hype and business?.............

Sorry for rant this just has interested me lately.

No rant mate,

They've worked hard to get rid of all this stuff and mostly managed in the stadiums, but in Europe a lot of us do seem to have anger management issues so thank the stars we're not allowed to have guns, it would be carnage .

It's a feature thats been associated with this sport for a long time and some of the really vicious gangs, (and I've seen millwall visit QPR) and their hangers on are middle aged now if they're not retired, they dress well, they seem to have money and the way they move, very fast, in a group around the streets is reminiscent of the films I've seen of the Fascists in the East End in my Grandfathers day.

Sinister  the memory sent a shiver down my spine .

And then theres the drunken twats.
What a long strange trip it is.

No request to explain Matty cause I don't really care. Cheers

Still curious about the comment and I think Gromit can speak for himself.

Thanks SG. Don't worry I'm not scoffing or scolding here. We Aussies also have a major aggression issues. :( Just doesn't seem to transfer as much into sport as being "hooligans" as they label it in the news over here.

What does happen though is the local teams of our football (rugby league) can have superiority complexes. They tend to become a pack and will end up "on the piss" fighting or bluing, destruction of property and other gracious inhumane acts. I also guess they are some of the biggest supporters and fans of their code of football, but this is not what drives them to be twats. As well as are star players are fucked.

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/br ... 5746589239

It seems to me over in Europe and UK passion for a team has run rampant? or some people have just used this as a reason to act like a twat and others have followed thinking it is fun?

One topic that does seem to make (most) Aussie male's passions and tempers flare at parties and gatherings is discussion about which car brand is better Holden or Ford. I have seen many a scuffle, but usually only between two people about these car brands. It stems from a great car race we have here in Australia called Bathurst. Traditionally (up until this year as Nissan and Mercedes just entered this championship) only Fords and Holdens were used in this racing category the V8 supercars and Bathurst has become a famed battle ground for the two brands. I say battle ground because the lead and propaganda for the race over the years has made you feel that this is an everlasting war. Well needlessly to say because the brands have been going at it for so long and are fairly evenly matched, many discussions are never won/lost and become heated between fans, even to the point of violence. Violence will usually only occur when both parties/people are intoxicated by Alcohol

This video shows my points clearly, every fan has a drink, references to first blood and tribal. I do love Bathurst though and love the fans and Atmosphere they create. Most fighting occurs not at Bathurst, but after the fact by two drunk twats, who probably did even watch it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EUxKR4Yh3o

We are seeing a common problem here though aren't we????

ALCOHOL.

How come they never come out with a new study to say "Alcohol may increase violence" ?

or a reefer madness video like

""Southern Comfort Crazies"
I don't take drugs, I am Drugs.
