Anyone had to get clean for urine test..how long did it take

Got an offer for a good job but gotta do a medical and alco/drug test. Im 75kg 175cm, medium build. I last smoked 5 days ago. A week before that I went to Dam for 2 days and smoked all day lol. Before 5 days ago I have been smoking nearly every day for a few years. Amounts vary but on average I would say 2/3g a week max and some weeks would be hash.

The test will be at the start of December so a good 4-5 weeks away. I bought some home testing strips for a quid each on ebay. I have also joined the gym gonna start from tomorrow. Drinking only water from now on and no more fast food etc and gonna try eat as healthy as possible to get the thc out of my fat cells, so I know what I need to do.

I am just wondering if anyone has had to do this before and how long it took you to be negative for a urine test? As reading online there are stories ranging from 10 days to 90days. I want to be prepared as if im not gonna be clean by then I will have no choice but to get a friends piss, but that would be a last resort.

On a side note after 5 days of not smoking and I already feel a lot better, I had been meaning to quit/cut down for ages but was always too lazy to stop (wonder why lol). Now I HAVE to do it and im happy I have!

Hi mate, I had to quit a few years ago to go offshore on the oil rigs. I was an avid smoker as I am now (least a g a day) and it took about 40 days for me to clear! I used the test at 30 days and wasnt clear tho! It will be hard to use someone else's piss as I guy stands right at your back and tells u any taps turn on etc it's a fail (this happened to me anyway)!
Everything you are doing is about all u can do! Time,fluids and exercise is all that can help you! Good luck!
P.S. I might have to stop again as my boss is looking to put me back on the rigs. Money is just too good to say no. I will always go back to smoking tho. I'm a stoner...

Not 100% reliable! I'm a scaffolder and a few guys I worked with followed instructions exactly, failed and were sacked on the spot! I'm not saying this won't work, but I would use it as a last resort if all else fails! As I say I'm maybe going back on the rigs and I wouldn't trust it to pass me! depends on a few things, such as

-quality of test (length of time traces can detected varies greatly, from weeks to several around 3 months)
- type of test (urine, blood, hair etc)
-smoking habbits (frequency, quantity etc)
- level and distribution of body fat (as many metabolites of thc get stored in fatty tissues)
- individual factors (not everyone breaks things down in body at same rate)

I would not smoke any more before your test, or be around it being smoked. Drinking water/sweating wont make any difference and some of the masking kits can themselves show up on tests, which would be a disaster. Try explaining that.

If you do test positive for thc then depending upon type of test there are a variety of legal things that can cause false positives (a quick google search can find them).

Chances are that it will be a basic urine screen for a wide variety of banned drugs. Such tests look for thc metabolites that last at most a few weeks rather than metabolites that can stay around for months. They are less sensitive because they are looking for several things rather than one. It is highly unlikely your new employer will invest in highly sensitive and expensive tests. Unless you have got a job with the cops looking after the drug evidence room.

As long as you stay weed free, than all should be cool.

If you have 4-5 weeks without you should be fine. If you want a little help, take a vitamin b-complex pill the morning of and drink a bunch of water. The b12 will add color to your urine so you pass the color test. Also eat a nice steak the night before (for creatine levels which they check). Don't take your test with your 1st piss of the day. Don't exercise the two days before (speeds up your metabolism and could pull out some thc from some fat cell you've had stored). But exercise heavily up until that point will help. They check color, temperature, and creatine level (to make sure you are not flushing your system). If your urine passes those tests, then they check the nanograms.

Activity level? (0-10) where 0 is bedridden and 10 is a triathlete. Goes to metabolic rate/caloric burn rate.
Average amount of liquid consumed daily? Goes to total body water exchange rate.
Body Fat Content? Goes to THC being lypophilic (fat-loving), chilling out among fat cells. Also tied to activity level...

For a little science, read about Adipogenesis and Adiposites (fat cells).
This may help some to understand how cannabinoids interact with fatty cells, which in turn explains how the above is related and relevant.
Bottom line, clearing THC is relatively the same as clearing alcohol, both require time. There are no secret or magical potions like Gold Bond, or old wives tales like sucking on copper (pennies) or drinking diluted vinegar or attempting to flush ones system by drinking excessive amounts of water. If the latter were the case, there wouldn't be any (EDIT) fewer fat people in the world cause all of the fat cells that the THC has become part of would also be flushed. Hmm, wow, now there's a perspective rarely if EVER mentioned. Now it has...

Want to pass a THC urinalysis? Stop smoking a minimum of 30 days prior, and obviously the longer the better...

1. The specimen(s) weren't tested for cannabinoids.
2. The specimen(s) weren't tested due to administrative errors (mostly chain of custody issues)
3. The specimen(s) weren't tested due to failure of equipment (refrigeration, calibrations, etc...)
4. Bullshit!!!

I'd go with the most likely, #4, mainly because I know better. The following goes to my credibility...
While serving in the US Army, one of my assigned additional duties was the Unit Alcohol and Drug Coordinator (UADC).
I was responsible for coordinating and implementing various drug awareness programs, and administering the urinalysis program.

IF (yup, a BIG IF) one really cares, stop smoking for at least 30 days...
...or risk your employment/reputation/family/etc... on methods that have been proven NOT TO WORK!!!
