Days 7 and 8

Post by AzLaker »

I know you’ve been waiting for the last two days of this adventure, so while the wife is still sleeping (its 6:00 a.m. here); I’m going to make attempt to finish this bad boy.

Day 7:

Typical morning, breakfast and a bowl…what a way to start the day, this day it was Blueberry Haze I got the night before from the Noon. Nice fruity taste and a nice uplifting high, a great way to start the day.
We make one more effort to hit the museums, but again way to busy to stand in line. I guess when it’s cold and everyone is on Christmas vacation, these places are bound to attract people wanting to get out of the damp, wet weather. We at least hit the souvenir shop and come away with some nice gifts for the family back home. That being said, we take the tram and head to Pink Floyds, stopping and looking for gifts along the way. Finally made it to Pink Floyds, got past the BIG bouncer at the door and after ordering drinks, made my way over to the bud tender for our selection. They have a new display case that’s already lit up…no longer need to push the button and watch the light come on.
Had my mind set on Big Tits, but the bud tender recommended “Buddha Sister” which I got a gram of. Pink Floyd always has good weed and this bud didn’t disappoint, good taste, smooth and easy on the throat. Enjoyed watching the bouncer waving people in, or giving the young people the once over to who didn’t look 18.
Feet rested, we trek back out, but not before we hit the frits shop for fries and a drink. Make our way over to the “Old Man Time” head shop so the wife can buy a few items. She stocked up on those marijuana figurines that she liked from her last visit in October of “05”….so I think a small shrine is next to be built at our home with these figurines as the center piece, with fruit and incense burning….Ha Ha   !! We came, we saw, we bought.
Headed over to Nes, to see Dave and hang out. Nes is such a laid back coffeeshop and the wife really enjoyed going there. One of the best coffeeshops in terms of weed and atmosphere in my book. Bought a ½ gram of Afghanica….a ½ gram of Hindu Kush and a 1 gram of Stella Blue, all outstanding. Beers in our stomachs and weed in our heads, eating dinner was in order. We had made plans previously with Dave to go out to dinner after his shift, so after Dave had a chance to relax, we were off. Steaks were our mind and Dave recommended, “The Argentine Steak House” on Damstaart, good choice but the place was packed, so we walked to the one on Niewezijds Voorburgwal. Good restaurant, quite, with good ambience. Had a real nice dinner together, and from what I heard from Dave and Debbie the dessert was killer, I opted out of dessert, I was to full, but will save some room next time. We headed back to the Nes for a final smoke before calling it a night and making our way back to Rookies.

Day 8:

O.K. you know the plot line now, breakfast then a bowl…dam I love vacations. We plan on meeting Medic3928 at Abraxas around 11:30 so we take the #5 tram up. We hang out for awhile drinking a coffee and enjoying the crowd, but never did meet Medic3928, sorry to miss you bro, maybe next time. Anyway Abraxas now has a souvenir shop next door, so we buy a couple of weed menus, one for me and one for my brother, plus the wife buys a 4 piece coffee set and a ceramic grinder, all for that shrine I need to build at home….ha ha   . We make our way back to the Singel and over to Gypsy’s Nirvana Seed Boutique so the wife can buy a necklace she spotted the first time we came in. Talked to OldPink and Ewen awhile, then decide to head on over to the RLD one last time, but not before getting a seed recommendation from OldPink. He said the best weed to grow indoors, Indicia wise, was Mazar from Dutch Passions….19% THC…Killer, I know what I’ll be ordering soon from Seedbay.
We stopped in at the Avenue Hotel to book a double room for the April together, then a lap around the RLD. Nothing special, so we stop in at the Cannabis College, donate some money and check out their plants, always fun and very informative. We stop in at the Old Church, grab something to drink and make our way up those narrow stairs to do some people watching, while smoking the last of the Blueberry Haze. Had the whole upstairs to ourselves which is unusual. Time to move on, so we hit the gift shop on the corner of Nes and Damstraat, buy more gifts, then on to Nes one last time. Beers and a 1 gram of Hindu Kush and we’re set. We stay a couple of hours before saying goodbye to Dave and Jes, telling them we’ll see you again in April, and look forward to seeing the NEW Nes. Head back to Rookies for dinner, then upstairs to pack… as we leave early the next day.
Had a GREAT vacation, didn’t really stick to the plans we made, but who cares, we had a fantastic time and came home very relaxed, excluding the boring flight home and British Airways misplacing the wife’s luggage. But heck, less then 3 months and we’ll be back, ready to party again…..see you in April!!!

i notice you bought half grams at Nes, that sounds good as then you get to sample more. Do they advertise that or do you have to ask? Have you dont that anywhere else or do the dealers tend to get anoid about it?

thanks,

Thanks for the rest of the report and also the pictures. I hope your wife got her bags back by now - BA's baggage handling is in the sh*t right now and many people have lost theirs for weeks!

Soon be April

Excellent work AZ. you must have taken a lot of notes while you were there, or you have a photographic memory. Thanks.

The Nes will sell you 1/2 grams...it's not advertised, you just have to ask. From what I understand most coffeeshops will sell you 1/2's, but you must ask.

I take a 3"x5" notebook to jot down coffeeshop's I've been to or places we've seen....otherwise I'd be to stoned to remember everything.

half grams are a great way to sample the most weed - most good shops like Amnesia and GA will do it.

Nice memories there. We stayed in the Hotel De Gerstekorrel in December (the white building on the left in two pictures, with "DAM" hotel on the sign), between N.Y. Pizza and Rene's Croissants.

Thanks for the pics and reports, Az.
