Coffeeshops closing Time

After all i was reading in the Internet about at what time Coffeeshops close,i thought most of them are open til 1 from Sunday to Thursday and 'til 3 on Friday and Saturday.
When i was in Amsterdam over the last weekend,i was walking around from CS to CS having a very nice Evening!At 1 all of 'em getting closed.The Bulldog on Leidseplein was still open at the Bar part but the Coffeeshop Area was closed also.Does anyone know when this has changed or was there a special Reason on that Saturday,the 13.10.?

In April all coffeshops had to chose between alcohol and weed.Only bars are allowed to be open after 1:00, so now all are closed at that time or earlier.

Thx for the info philly-Rich.I knew about they had to choose between Alcohol and Marihuana but i did not know that they have to close earlier at the Weekend.

I would grumble about the coffee shops closing at 1am, but i'll probably be so stoned i'll be in bad by then haha

Even the few coffeeshops that still sell beer (naughty, naughty...) are generally closed by 1, yes.

It's a shame the hookah bars don't stay open later, really.

last time i was there i didnt know it was the last noght of selling alchool you should of seen the ppl goin nut thinkimng it was the end of the word!! i know for a fact during the CC some CS will be open 24 or later then 1am!!

I did read somewhere that some places where selling beer in bottles but not from a pump because theyre not allowed to "serve" beer. Also i did read somewhere else that some places were still able to "serve" beer because they didnt sell hard liquor (vodka, whisky, etc) in the first place.

When i noticed that all Coffeeshops had closed,i was just glad that i bought enough Hash and Weed before.It's probably the most annoying thing i can imagine to be in Amsterdam and have nothing to smoke and i would NEVER buy something from the Streetdealers!

If they have beer on draught they cant be selling weed aswell as that is against the law!Alot of places that chose to sell booze over weed will still let you smoke your own if you are buying a drink.

All cs are closed at 1am bars are open later

In May I bought Weed and Beer in at least 3 places.

I WAS THERE TWO DAYS AGO AND I BOUGHT BEER!

Why would I lie, exactly??

I practically live there in the summer months. I should know. Ask any locals that use the place, they'll all tell you the same. I can think of at least three or fours places that still sell both.

Never heard of little things called 'legal loopholes'?

I love that it's the UKers that all think they know Dutch law better than those of us that spend much time there....

Go here, use the panoramic 3D thing, and zoom in on the bar area; you will see a big white thing, known as a beer pump....

Next they'll be trying to tell us you can't buy salvia or peyote there either....
