I dont think they allow it, pretty sure the only beer drinking thats 'allowed' is on the terraces of the bars, pretty sure people go down Vodelpark and drink, hopefully one of the locals will know for sure.BigRigRob wrote:Can you walk around town with an open container,

As a non-beer drinker (only cider), I find it quite hard when I go away anywhere on holiday if I don't want to drink the local wine or go straight onto shorts... I know there are a few bars in Amsterdam that serve cider, but can you guys suggest a beer/lager that won't leave me retching from the taste that I could try while I'm there?
I know the ?'s are going to be coming now... what don't I like about beer etc. - well it's difficult to nail it down, and I'm VERY stoned right now, so this might not make the best of sense... It's basically just the taste that I can't take - from bitter to lager, it all just tastes... yak! Maybe I just need to get enough down me neck and then I won't notice, and believe me, I've tried this tack, but I end up gagging because of the taste and return to supping wine or cider if I can find it.
Impossible task? Can't help it fellas... I just wish I enjoyed the taste so I could indulge in those nice frosty cold bottles when the sun's beating down!
