Yep, I can vouch for him, he's not unsociable. :D

The poor Americans are really gonna be struggling with all the various accents. I think every fukt up dialect and twang will be represented in multiple

I'm working on it Lemming! (Yorkshireman living in Brum for over 20yrs!) We might be in the minority, but we'll make up for it!

I can handle most dialects and accents - even some of the more, erm, robust Glaswegian accents, having had the pleasure of playing in this wonderful, friendly city several times over the years!

And as for my Irish friends, from Cork to Dublin and up to Belfast and beyond, I've never met a finer folk! If I can magic this all together and get some cash sorted to get my ass over there guys, then we'll have a good craic that's for sure! Don't gang up on the English contingent though - both Scots and Irish... I'm not having you lot swinging Claymores or anything vaguely sharp and/or dangerous at us Brits, whilst chasing us up Damrak with your warpaint on, though...

On a more serious note for a moment... It all pretty much still hangs in the balance though - Ebay is my only hope! I got 10 watchers on one choice item, but still no damn bidders with just 20 hours to go. :? If just this one piece sells at it's starting price, then I've got my hotel and about a days worth of schmokin' covered. I've got another two items being watched that finish 3 days and 7 days that together would cover me for another day, if they both reach their starting price... (Buy It Now would get me my third day paid for!!)

I've still got about 20 days in which to cancel the hotel reservation without a big penalty, but I don't want to go there. Think positive and all that. Thanks to one and all for offers of food and weed - a friend with weed is a friend indeed! And there's plenty of both going to be there I'm sure... Fingers crossed I won't have to impose on anyone's goodwill - I just gotta get some decent bids on my stuff and I'll be sorted.

And if all else fails, maybe the mortgage doesn't get paid that month. Oops. But you know what? I need this holiday now more than ever, and I really don't want to miss it.

Positive vibes. When I get home from work tomorrow, I will have found a frenzied bidding war has taken place and my trip is secured.

Toker70 - I will see you in Amnesia around 10.30am on the 21st mate!

Hestia - all we watch is American tv over here, so we should be able to understand each other I think! 8) Plus, I imagine after a wee while, there will be a very stoned silence where sign language will just take over, and it won't matter anyway!!

@Hestia I've never had a problem understanding anyone(apart from a Bloke from Newcastle in Ibiza once but i couldnt understand what i was saying that day either) but regional accents and slang may get in the way

There'll be no sharp objects flying around but us celts may gang up on the Sassnachs(sp) for a bit of good natured slagging

Us Brits have a reasonable clan together, for any banter flying across the room.

As for the accents, you aint heard my mate Ben yet, he's a brit, but waffles like he speaks with 20 languages, even i can't understand him sometimes, maybe its just because he mumbles, or i am deaf
