I know at one time IcelandAir wold give you a couple of nights in Reykjavik either coming or going.

I wouldn't to it on the way to Amsterdam, but a couple day wind down on the way back wouldn't hurt.

Enjoy

My trip for August was $920. I booked two seperate flights to get that price though. Miami to Zurich for $750 and then Zurich to Amsterdam for like $175. I had to get creative to get a good deal, otherwise I'd be paying like $1300 or so.

And now it's time to buy? Well, this seems to go against my rule of waiting until Tuesday or Wednesday, so I'll wait until then. Unless someone knows about international fares dropping on Sunday or some other day as a practice.

Iceland, that's an interesting idea. A quick check shows a fare of $1151 with a 3 day layover... They are in the running...

My heart goes out to you Yanks having to pay crazy money to get to Mokum. My return flight for next weekend from Liverpool UK to Amsterdam cost me £79 ( around 50 bucks)
At that price I go over for a Friday night and return Saturday evening about 6 times a year.

Having said all that it is costing me 4000 pounds to take the wife and my 3 kids to Orlando in October, so it's swings and roundabouts really!

Whatever it costs , it's money we'll spent ..enjoy!!

You are right, it's a fair price and it's feeling like they are going to hold onto that price point. It's always easier to wait.

Orlando is very effective at separating all of us from our money. :o If I lived within an hours or two flight from AMS, I would know which coffeeshop served the best fresh ground coffee. Not the push button, mix hot water with coffee concentrate machine.

Thanks I'll do that, I'll absolutely will be out there for the Sep 8th show at the ArenA. :D

At this point Kayak is giving me 50:50 odds over the airfare: at $1060 I doubt it'll drop much more beyond another $20 and very well may go up a couple of hundred. Basic strategy though of buying domestic airfare says to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday.

As these things happen, I learned that traveling with a television to Havana one incurs an extra surcharge.
