LS you dont really find chavs in Essex, just Essex boys.
Chaviest place in the uk ive been to so far is Swansea, unless your counting northern ireland when its belfast, although there they call them spides. Wana know how to make chav culture worse? stir in a lump of secterianism.

Chav culture exists in the "GROT of the GHETTO" and that can be anywhere - lets face it peeps...
These chavvy types wear their prized Burberry / Nike / Gucci / NY Yankees caps with a kinda pride not unlike the kinda pride that the "FONZ" had over his leather jacket - remember that? "Hey, hands off the leather!" What a prick that guy was in the show with phrases like "Hey..." and "Hey..." and another slightly different way of saying it like "Hey..." WTF???
Now we have "New Age Fonz Wannabes but aint never gonnabees" whom we the British refer to as "Chavs" - and these chavs look like their mum went shopping in TK MAXX for a quik bargain because their 21yr old child who cant afford to buy his own clothing at this age, is too busy slagging his mum off and cant get himself a job LMFAO... Is this not Chav culture me dearies???

... as long as it aint a cheque
same for germany, nobody cares about Baseball in europe (I wouldnt know anyone who could explain me even the basics of the game....) its just a fashion-item over here, nothing more or less.Sombrero wrote:I bet that a huge part of the people wearing a Yankees cap in NL don't even know that it's a baseball team. Im 100% sure that barely anyone wears it to show that they support the New York Yankees. Its more a fashion item here, especially in the hip-hop subculture. Baseball isn't big at all here.

Though not a part of Europe, I will comment on observations in NY (NY is a far cry from Europe, but it's America's most European city IMHO).
Here, there's really two primary usages of the NY Yankees baseball cap.
1) Hip-hop influenced. Frequently, the caps are colored or patterned in non-official colors. The circular gold MLB logo label is left on the brim, which is left flat and not bent. The brim is angled toward one side. Often the hat is oversized, as is a tee shirt, baggy pants and untied expensive basketball shoes. I have also seen this look while in Europe, in London, Bergen and in Amsterdam.
2) Actual Yankee fans, these caps are always official colors and usually have an arc or bend in the brim like a baseball player would do.

just a memory flashback about the "bend in the brim" comment -ed the head wrote:

when i was 10 or so and playing summer baseball in the Little Leagues we would get new caps at the start of the each season and the first thing we would do is give the cloth and cardboard brim a good soak in a bucket of water and then tie the brim around the end of a baseball bat and leave overnight to dry out
when we awoke the next morning we were real baseball players ...

Lol... Essex boys is an Old Skool term for Chavs. Before the the whole country and the dictionary knew about Chav's, Essex was the place, Burberry caps, Fake Stone Island jackets, baseball caps and reebok classics, and a jack the lad attitude, driving up and down the Southend Aeterial (sp) Road (A127) in the suped up Citreon Saxo, and then to Romford for a night out on the tiles....Sir Niall of Essex-sire wrote:LS you dont really find chavs in Essex, just Essex boys.
