hi every1, when i 1st started visiting the dam, me n my mates would go on the ferry as it was a gud chance 2 hav a drink, visit amsterdam then hav a drink cummin home but the 6 or so hrs that u get in the dam when u go on the ferry just wasnt enuf so we started flying. we stayed in a really nice hotel that allowed us 2 smoke so we kept using it but when it was fully booked we had 2 find another, we wer told that all hotels r now non smoking n if it hadn't bn 4the fact we had a balcony we wouldv had no where 2 hav a bifta. can any1 please tell me if there r any good hotels that allow u 2 smoke or is there a better way 2 stay in amsterdam? (the cheaper, the better)

Its best to book before you go, on their website with the link I gave you. You pay 5% deposit by card and the rest on arrival.

Hostel Meeting Point even advertises that they're smoker friendly, and they've got a bar inside the place they let you smoke in, too (the bar used to be open all night, but I don't know if they still are). Kind of a dive, though. It's at Warmoesstraat 14, close to the station.

Hi, we stayed at the abba hotel not far from vondelpark, cheap also, is basic so if you on a budget even better. just put this link in your address bar http://www.hotel-abba.nl. or go on bookings.com, or i think it might be hotels.com now. or even just search the forums on here for smokerfriendly hotels, you will be able to see reviews aswell.

Most reccomended is WW's in Haarlem, just across the road from the station you get a space above a CS with the most superb Verdamper - http://www.hempcity.net - or you could rent the flat

Only problem being is the coffeeshop is closed for 6 months (minus a few weeks) I personally wouldn't want to stop above a coffeeshop I cant use.
