It was Coffee maker on & a smoke then a soak in the bath followed by more coffee and another Joint
Which is when I thought I will test the borrowed camera in some challenging light conditions and have a walk before the rest of the world wakes up
I do really like the local park as most of it is woodland and there is part of it that is a bit neglected but very nice at the same time
and you don't have to get too far in to it for the sound of the birds to drown out the traffic
This is roughly my route
here come the photos....
after crossing the main road at the bottom you cross the local beck
then I walk up the hill and turn left, that brings you on to an old railway line (closed to passengers in around 1916 & freight in the 1960's) that is now a footpath
I then take the outside path around the edge of the woods to the top
On the main path there appears to be a trail for the kids to follow linking the play area at the bottom & the museum at the top, with pictures drawn by kids painted on it along the way
But this one made me look twice
The local museum at the top was actually once one of the local mill owners houses!!
(With one hell of a back garden!)
after a ciggie at the top I tend to walk down through the neglected / forgotten about bit
Shall we say I find it has a certain charm to it
In the past there was a stream running through this part & there are 3 bridges that cross where it used to/sort of still runs
the remains of one of the old shelters/pavilions
as I was going to get to the second one I found this recently fallen tree (defiantly with in the last 2 weeks)
and a few views around the last of the bridges
the path then rejoins the main one just before the old railway bridge at the bottom
a few views of the more formal part with the lake
and I said it was early, even the ducks hadn't woken up
and just as I was leaving I spotted one of the local squirrels raiding one of the bins
All the photos were taken on full auto and I don't think they are too bad given the light conditions
Anyway Just thought I would share the pics
