Hi Sailor. If it's late - it's always late where I am - don't you enjoy listening to some easy music to help you unwind and sleep?
It helps me to listen to the Miles Davis CD,Kind Of Blue, every nite. Miles has John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderly, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers and James Cobb backing him. All the best musicians on their respective instruments and a good thing, too, since the entire (at the time LP) was improvised. It's signature number is "SO What." The most beautiful tune on it is :Blue In Green: and te remaining three are also wonderful.
Google <Kind of Blue by Miles Davis>.

The Final Cut, some awesome music on that.
Not sure why songs about madness appeal to me. I caught this the other day:

It's been lingering in my head. . . Nice to hear some new music that is on the mark.
There must have been a door there in the wall when I came in.

The Great acoustic bassist, jazz composer and college professor of Improvisation, Matt Kendrick:
Google <"Turnslide" by Matt Kendrick> or go to http://www.myspace.com/music/play?ID=38415891&ac=now and look for the tune, "Turnslide" on Matt Kendrick's _Composite_ or _Bass City_ CDs. The lead tenor sax player is now teaching at Oberlin in Ohio and Matt teaches improvisation in the Wake Forest University Music School. Matt's site is http://www.mattkendrick.net.

The first time I saw Matt Kendrick he was playing with the drummer I played with when we opened the N.C. Collegiate Jazz Festival in Chapel Hill years ago. Matt is incredibly good and always attracts the best musicians from all over the world to play and record his music with him.

You don't want to miss this chance to hear Matt before he really hits it big and becomes totally out of reach except by buying his CDs.
_Bass City_ is an update of John Coltrane with two tenors, including the one now teaching at Oberlin. "Turnslide" is on it.

Most here would probably like the more psychedelic_ UNITY&ALIENATION_ that has an amazing guitar player on it in place of the piano Matt normally uses in The Matt Kendrick Unit.

Has anybody ever heard guitarist Mike Greer and his CD,_Between Two Worlds_? Mike is from Winston-Salem like Matt and Me. Mike Greer (with Eric Clapton) was one of the originators of psychedelic music. I can't help it if I'm old so know and have played music with all these great people for a long time and am relatively new to computing, but am an experienced, accomplished bass and sax player originally from Chicago. I'm sorry, but I just can't help it. I AM going to meet balou for a 4:20 Very Soon! I'd suppose around 4:20P.M. if we don't get lost on the way there.... :D
