What I'm trying to achieve is to suggest maintaining some resemblance of tradition. :)
Historically and hysterically, the winners were announced at t'Nes after 22:00 on the 20th, and the awards were presented the following afternoon and evening.

No frantic dashing about, at least not for the peeps who are in Mokum. Just a guess, but that will probably be a majority.
The last scheduled activity is at 14:30 at Spirit, which is within a 20ish minute walk to the most likely top three. Frantic dashing? I should hope and think not...

The only reason I have read for not presenting on the traditional day is because a few peeps want to hang in Haarlem for the day and evening?
Huh? Whatever...
Peeps can go see the parade Saturday evening after the 17:00 t'Nes meet and greet. Most peeps don't stay long anyway, or are in and out.
The parade is good until 21:00, after which - go visit coffee shops. Wake up Sunday morning, blow off the scheduled TnT's and go see the floats in daylight.
Be back by 16:00 at the 3rd place shop. Too easy.......... for me.

Of the likely top three shops, which ones close very early, or early at all? Grey Area?  They might place 3rd at best, which means well before their closing time.
More importantly, when does the winning shop close? If I were a betting man, I would wager that the winning shop closes at 01:00.
Again, who will be frantically dashing about if the last scheduled event in Mokum is at 14:30, and the most likely winning shop closes at 01:00?

Carry on, I have...

I'll take that as a vote for replacing Haarlem with cup presentations then.
When I suggested that earlier the only response was from AzLaker, and he seemed quite concerned by the suggestion of a change.
One vote either way then.
And I quite fancy Haarlem too, although I could probably be talked out of it.

There's no tradition, incidentally, the cups were presented on the 22nd or later last year.

I’m a TRADitionalist. I believe in doing thing in a TRADitional, tried and perfected manner. I don’t believe in change for the sake of change.

From reading some of the above posts, it appears that some members want to put off the presentations until Monday or even Tuesday.......The point of presenting the cups on the 21st. was to do it whilst the majority of people were still in town…as far as I’m concerned we can present them when ever you all decide, as long as it’s before the 25th. ‘coz I ain’t dragging them back across the Atlantic…    8)

While other members don’t seem to want to make any plans until they get up in the morning and see what sort of day they feel like….I guess it’s lucky for those people that others have made plans for then one at least has options.

As to the boat ride...Friday or Monday, whatever..I'm in...
If I don't see you no more in this world, I'll meet you on the next one.

I hope that wasn't sarcasm Uncle Ron.
I'm trying to consider everyone's suggestions and to fit them together as best as they'll go.

As Trad says, it's worth having a plan because, even though we won't stick to it, if we don't have one, nothing will happen.

I've put forward two options for Sunday (scrap the original plan and replace with cup presentations or stick to the original plan and do cups on Monday) and asked for comments.
In each case there has been little reaction but what there has been has been negative.
Nobody said "yeah great idea" to either suggestion.
Presumably that means most people will go along with anything but at least one person will be upset whichever way we go.
From that I guess we can conclude that you can never keep everyone happy and that most people don't care one way or the other.

I’m picking up a slight vibe of frustration from your post Lemming….In fact, I’m getting the same vibe from the one above it….

I have been charged by The Queen herself to announce the following

The Hestia Cups will be awarded starting at the third place coffeeshop beginning at 1400hrs (2:00pm) on Monday the 22nd.
The location will be posted here on Sunday 21st.
.

I think it might be best to just post a date/time to deal with the cups and if anyone shows or not simply proceed with the agenda.

when too many people jump in is does cause confusion..

i would like to witness the cup presenting as i leave on evening 21st
but
i would not like to witness the cup presenting as it frees up at least half a day for fun..
thats why i mentioned maybe 3rd place gets presented on 21st about 5pm.
i would like to go to fts t&t as i aint been to spirit in awhile, at least suggestions are coming from people that are going to 420.. for me lemming & trad sort it you have are concerns/ideas, ill be going even if we have to meet at bulldog or grasshopper(please dont though).
odds on will be making completely different plans after i meet a few acd at nes

On the trip to Haarlem....I'll do a poll and see how many people would like to go on Sunday. If we get a poor response, nix the trip.
Everything else scheduled looks good.

Sorry if I was as a bit irritable.
I have a cold!
I should probably put more smilies in my posts :D

There seems to be a lot to fit in this year.
Once a T&T is on (even a provisional) itinerary, people are reluctant to drop it.
This means we have to try to slot events around those already posted.
I think it's best to try to leave at least two hours between each published time, if possible, especially waypoints.
That way people can join along the way or wander off to get food or whatever and rejoin.

A possible compromise is Stuart's suggestion - we could do one cup presentation on Sunday evening and the rest on Monday.
If we made it about 8 or 9 pm there would be time to fit in a Haarlem trip too.
Could do 3rd place on Sunday and others on Monday.
Could even do winner on Sunday and others on Monday.
