Don't remember anyone posting this but the Leidsestraat is closed to trams until the 15th November. This means that trams 1, 2 & 5 are all running a diverted route.
1 & 2 turn right at the rear of the palace along the Raadhuisstraat/Rozengracht/Marnixstraat.
The 5 turns left past the palace and along the route of the 16 and 24 via Rokin until it gets to the Museumplein and does not go near the Leidseplein. Just be aware of this when you jump on the tram.

Ummm...
If trams 1,2,5 are not running the usuall route, what would be the best way to get to and from central and the liedsplien?? Not walking or biking....

I was wondering about this. Been watching the Koningsplein webcam past couple weeks and dont' see or hear any trams. Thanks, Matty for explaining the reason why.
