Reviews of Bulldog Lounge 6 1 1

Me and my fiends went there for the first time on a Tuesday so it wasn't that packed. We took the great mobster-like looking table which is standing nearly outside. The dealer there was very friendly. After a short chat with him he offered us a drink each. We tried some Citral and some Misty and some White Widow. All three were nice in taste and high, but in my opinion the Citral was better than the White Widow and even much better than the Misty. I liked the coffee there also, but if you want to do yourself a favour taste one of the fresh-pressed Fruit Juices and some Citral in the morning. It lifted me up every morning i got there. The complete interior is kept in this mobster-/lawyer-look but it's very comfortable, even the chairs are patched like clouds but the couches are better! You can also sit in front of the shop and enjoy your joint. But wherever you take place you have a nice view on Spuistraat. One of my wishes came true there. Four policemen came along while we sat there and smoked and they just watched us and smiled! I also met very nice people there on my last day in Amsterdam (Rob and Jamie, thank you again for the nice chat and the buds!). So if you search for a cool place to hang out the Bulldog Lounge is nearly perfect, their menu could be offering more choices but nevertheless I had a very great time there!

1.4g of White Widow for 12e, Very nice bud and great high. Staff was very friendly, one of the few coffee shops I seen that actually had a restroom!

The only coffee shop we had a bad time in. It was empty and now we know why. The place was nice but the staff was bitchy and rude. Stay Away!

The low level lighting & leather seats in the lounge made for a comfortable & relaxing smoke. Usual Bulldog menu (weed & drink), didn't sell alcohol, approx 15min walk from Dam square but worth the walk.

Very chill place with a great bar staff. Like most coffeshops, no alcohol here. Buds were great, 2 grams of silver haze and 2 of White Widow for 24 euro. Not cheap, but not the most expensive either, and the weed is certainly decent. They are also one of the only places that serves prerolled purejoints, bought a pack of four Purple Haze (which must be close to 3 grams) for 12 euro. Very slick interior, surprised to see their clientele included Sly Stalone. Fitting as the Bulldog chain is a bit like Planet Amsterdam.

The new decor is very upscale and beautiful, but the weed selection was the smallest I ever saw in any coffeeshop.
Plus, the person behind the bar seemed a little too anal
retentive about keeping the place clean. Although I didn't get any attitude problem myself, you could definitely sense it in the air.
Even the people sitting at a few of the tables didn't seem very relaxed.
I read the same negative comments on other web sites and I tend to agree.
I think it was much more fun when it was 7th Heaven - WAY better selection of weed, friendly staff, cool patrons.
Now it's a very sterile environment.
No recommended anymore (at least by me, anyway).
I had a cup of coffee and left.

Last time I was there 7th Heaven was taken over by The Bulldog. My friend and I were there in February '00 and it was closed. We didn't know if it was seasonal or if it was closed for good. Then we were back in August '00 and that's when we saw the changes. The sign out front still read "7th Heaven" but inside they were selling nothing but Bulldog merchandise. They also started selling mushrooms and put tables and chairs outside which I don't ever remember them doing before. (It looked good. The place did need a facelift of some kind, I always thought)

I thought 7th Heaven was adequate, but not much more. (Hot blonde behind the counter, but the worst Europop blaring from the stereo).
