Another rough guide. By the way Eindhoven I have to say isn't that beautiful but grey and industrial so again can't comment on other things to do(no offence intended)but there are green spaces if you look for them. I tried to give an general opinion on quality regarding coffeeshops I visited a lot in the past. Most places carry the usual standard strains and one or two hazes, hashish generally speaking tends to be of better quality. Not much menu changes again mostly. Places are quite modern in general and as usual outside of Amsterdam not close together often. Don't expect pictures but enjoy:
Indian
In 2015 I didn't visit as I was told it's closed. Fortunately not the case though. Interior is second best after Sindbad's, atmosphere seems to be way better though. Popular with the locals but a bit out of centre. Medium to big sized shop. About five strains of grass(White Widow, Northern Lights, Amnesia and Super Silver) and two of hashish. Weird pricing policy here, means you maybe get 1,1g weed for 10€ but 0,9g for 10€ of an other strain of weed(which is confusing as it has nothing to do with quality as it seems). Their Super Silver looked nice enough and I had it in the past(12€/g). This time I went for their best hashish(moroccan,10€/g)which was a nice enough piece of hash on par with Casa Blanca's best for the same price but different.
Quality in general: average to good.
High Times
Medium to big sized locals place out of centre. About five strains of wiet and hasj each, pre-packed and two types of bags to choose from. Had a renovation in 2015. Also there is a billard table.
Only shop with a vaporizer in Eindhoven as far as I know(verdamper). Went for Original Haze(about 12€)and a bit of hashish(moroccan, 8€/g)which were both nice enough. One of my favourite places to hang out since Snooker(rest in peace)is closed. Popular with the locals too so often packed in the evenings.
The Cool
Another one with a renovation during my abscence as I went in 2015, comfy and modern(like most shops in Eindhoven)medium sized place. About five strains of wiet and hasj. Met the turkish owner again then and had his best moroccan(10€)which was again nice enough classic tasting moroccan. Definitely a locals place. Quality in general: average to good enough.
Meetpoint
Small and bright shop. Usual suspects on the menu, if memory serves me right in 2015 also Candy Kush available. Two types of bags there and pre-packed gear. Quality in general: average to good enough.
Casa Blanca
Medium sized and basic moroccan owned joint. Didn't visit much in the past but gave it another go in 2015 after many years without visiting. Also had a look this time but nothing changed. I think three or four moroccans on offer and similar when it comes to grass. Last year if memory serves me right I even tried their classic moroccan hash for 8€ and 10€('Rif Special')which were good value for money. If you're after the more classic moroccans go there. Not so special though. Quality in general: average to good enough.
Snooker
Special mention as this place is closed due to stupid Bibop law( http://www.dutchamsterdam.nl/259-bibob )in the meantime. I wonder which coffeeshop would survive this, so unfair! Really a shame since this local's place was my favourite hang out. Quality was average to good enough but atmosphere was sort of special. This time I walked down memory lane just to be sure(see Indian)it's really closed with my own eyes. Unfortunately it is. I had a joint and remembered some good times. Still looked the same with signs on and stuff. Maybe because the owner tried to fight sentence until about two years ago. Again, such a shame! You will be greatly missed, Snooker
Highlander
Haven't been ages until 2015. Strictly a buy and fly locals place. About five strains of grass and hash available. Had a look at some standard strains and they looked nice enough, pre-packed. Owner sold me his best moroccan(10€/g)which was a good enough classic moroccan. Was also allowed to sit down for a tea and rolling while I watched a steady stream of locals popping in for a pick-up. Also some tourists. More of a quiet guy but was happy to give me directions as I was lost.
Sindbad
Turkish owned medium sized place. Didn't change much when I visited in 2015. Really fancy interior I haven't come across much when it comes to coffeeshops in general so definitely deserves a mention. Atmosphere is a bit odd though haven't been that often though. Menu is nothing special, about five strains of wiet and hasj. I remember their 'Sudden Death"(indica, about 8-9€)was still on and nothing else changed, too. Funny name.
I remember had some foreign moroccan in 2015 for about 8€ which was second best after The Wall's(pre-packed).
The Wall
Place to go, especially for hashish. Been in 2015, got the Crystal(10€/g)and Royal(12€)which were both quite good moroccans with foreign genetics. They weigh in front of you and it tends to be a place for picking up only as not much atmosphere. Menu changes regulary, more weedwise. Quality in general: good to very good.
This time I had Crystal Polm(moroccan, 9€/g)which was new on the menu and Royal(moroccan,12€/g). Crystal Polm was one of those quite blonde 'dry' moroccans of sandy texture.Flowerish tasting and provinding a clear high. I haven't seen such moroccans since a long time even though they're not that rare but must have to do with so called high grade at popular shops nowadays often comes with foreign genetics(only El Marssa's best springs to mind lately. This certainly was a better quality though but similar.), also haven't seen this on The Wall's menu yet. Best value for money in Eindhoven!
The Royal was nice enough but liked it more in 2015. Also chose between Diamond Haze(13€/g)and Himalayan Haze(12€/g) for latter one. Bit dry like so often with coffeeshop gear but proper looking bud. More like Mount Blanc effectwise though.
Weed on was: White Russian(10€/g), Snow White(10€/g), Wall Special(11€/g), Himalayan Haze(12€)and Diamond Haue(13€/g). Hash: Twisla(7€/g), Crystal Polm(9€/g)and Royal(12€/g).
Eurogarden
Turkish owned and due to a shitty glass cage since smoking ban small place(before it was decently sized, shame). Have been in 2015 and not much has changed. Usual suspects on the menu here as well. I remember their hashish was nice enough too but always prefered The Wall and Grasshopper(rest in peace). Two types of bags to choose from. Quality in general: average to good.
New Wave
Medium to big sized shop. Another one looking like one of those modern lounges. Once had much more variation on but in 2015 and also this time I only found about three strains of wiet and two of hasj on the menu. Even before the Wietpas this place went down in quality. Quality in general: average to good enough.
Grasshopper
Special mention as it's another victim of Bibop( http://www.dutchamsterdam.nl/259-bibob )and closed down in the meantime. Now there's a random pizza place. Shame as this small and modern place used to be one of the best in Eindhoven. Turkish guys there sold very good Amnesia like ten years ago when this strain wasn't all over the country and coffeeshops but something special(sick of it nowadays when it comes to coffeeshops). Also remember their fine Twisla(moroccan, about 8€)and Caramel(moroccan, 12€/1,4g
The Pink
Most popular place in Eindhoven. Zeer gezellig! With good reason, bright and medium sized place with sun blind being open in good weather in the back. Went again in 2015 and also now. Spotted about six strains for weed and about the same for hashish. Place to go for weed but their hash isn't that bad, too(still prefer other places for that). Pre-packed gear and mostly two types of bags available. Menu changes regulary. Quality in general: good to very good.
Despite Power Kush(about 12€?)new on the menu I got me some NYC Diesel(15€ for handy to weigh 1,26g). Not their flaghship(which was Amnesia which looked nice enough but still sick of it) effectwise but all about the taste I was told. By no means I'm an expert and only had a few Diesels in the past(tend to lack potency anyway I heard) but this one had not much in common with weird and grapefruity tasting Diesel from Toermalijn some years back. Quite the opposite as scraggy and only a bit sweet smelling. Even vaped it at High Times but wasn't that impressed. Even had good enough indica efffects while supposed to be a mostly sativa. They now beside Twisla(15€ for handy 1,26g)had another showpiece moroccan, Champagne(15€ for handy to weigh 1,26g), so I had a look and will probably try it next time.
Apotheker
Strictly small buy and fly place. About five strains of grass and hash, also on display. Sometimes special stuff not so common anymore. New on the menu was Gardela(moroccan, 9€/g)which again says something about availability. Café/bar De Bakkerij is also located in the same building and they share their patio while belonging together but has got an separate entrance. Relatively big place. Also some parties or live music on every now and then. The place to socialise. During the week at least open until 1:30 AM(or 2AM?)and until 4AM on weekends. Don't know if this special licence has to do with also being on Stratumseind(lots of pubs and bars). Quality in general: average to good enough.
Upstairs
Located on famous Stratumseind(lots of pubs and bars). As name suggests above a pub. Medium sized and bright place. Was in 2015 and also now again. Again about six strains of each grass and hash(saw something named Cheese there). Had a look at some ridiculously name Kush and Caramello(moroccan, 11€/g)which looked okish. Two type of bags of pre-packed gear. Quality in general: average to good enough.
La Folie
Is a smoker friendly pub with a nice atmosphere. I haven't been for ages though.
