Bulldog No. 90
ACD Page: The Bulldog No. 90
I visited here exactly once in May 08.
It was shortly after opening so there was literally nobody in the shop. The bud tender was standing behind the counter downstairs looking bored. I didn't see the light up menu button so I asked to see the menu, and he just pointed to it. It lit up and I looked at a bunch of unimpressive strains. After browsing for a minute I said "Thanks" and started to leave. When I turned the guy at the bar said "Yeah, thanks... BEE-OTCH" with a strong Dutch accent. I turned back towards him and said "Wtf did you say?!" and he just gave me this shit-eating grin while still standing behind the counter. Since he was too much of a pussy to say anything to my face I told him to fuck off and left.
In short, FUCK THE BULLDOG!!!

I liked the apple pie in the 'orginal' Bulldog in the RLD. That's pretty much the only reason I ever went there, lol. Before I could roll, I also used to buy visitors those little 4 packs of pre-rolled white widow. Not particularly good weed, but my guests always enjoyed them and the little 'souvenier' box they come in. I thought it was a cute way to welcome people to the city, inside a little card. (I will admit that now that I'm bigger and brighter, I never go there unless I'm meeting someone there or getting pie, but meh. I don't HATE the place like lots of people do.)

In November 2010 I came in located in the red light dist. CS.
Asked for a best Sativa in the house. Barmen gave me little bag of 'Limon Ice' for 12 euro.
Not bad.

I went to that one in the Red Light District in my last trip and they had a bargain on afghan hash. 25€ for 5 grams.
For sure it was not first quality but i regret I didn't get any.
It was the shop they claim to be the first CS, in which they sell buds in the underground floor.
It was pretty informative going there. They still have their primitive alarm system for police raids to show. Basically there's a hole in the ground connected to the ground floor, and if they police did come in they would throw an orange down so the budtenders could hide/throw away the cannabis. I think that the shop's steep dutch-style winding staircase came in handy to slow down the cops a lil bit!

Re: Bulldog
back in the day the one right next to whores alley had the basement room set up as a video/cinema room with a bored looking bud vendor in a corner and in cold weather was the best place to spend hours sheltering from the freezing wet dutch winters. back then (80's) they had amazing selection of the top imported weeds (acapulco gold, durban poison, etc) and did the thickest shakes. As posted here somehwere else years ago it was a bit hairy at times as the bud vendors occasionally sorted out unruly customers very physically out on the streets (the owners came from kickboxing background) and so on but it was quite a venue. Sadly its now a blatantly commercial venture from head to toe with little interest for weed connoisseurs, but once upon a time it was great.

As long as you BYOW the original coffeeshop can be a great place to sit and smoke. Last spring loved sitting in that open bay window in the morning with a cup of coffee and my morning sativa with the sunshine and cool air coming in off the canals. And Harry is good people. Share a smoke with him and he'll often return the favor in other ways.
I come in peace. Take me to your pizza!

really not surprised that there's no reviews .... the place is a crock. designed to milk yanks of their money. upstairs is tolerable ... but downstairs is a joke. i went in ther over the weekend just to wind up Gilbert and George behind the counter that dishes up cabbage. a right pair of bottom feeders them two. save your cash and go elsewhere.
I'm in shocks and stares

And you can have a beer while smoking pure.Rafiki wrote: Thu 22nd Aug 2019 06:43 amThere are some reviews for the No. 90 https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/Bulldog_revs.html. Going downstairs? Sure that's not the palace? Oh the Bulldog has been known since ages now to rip the tourists off. Henk's daughter runs the place. His wife just passed away couple of months ago. We use the palace location (Leidseplein) to sit down and drink a coffee, perhaps have a snack. You can smoke there without having to purchase their cannabis products; and it's near the Vondelpark.![]()
