Hunters will always have a soft place in my heart. Few years ago Boney had a fabulous whitey there. Out cold under the table and I gently guided him there. Budtender over the counter and a few others next thing we are on the infamous front bench recovering with the budtender. Really helpful guy.

All was well and we continued onward...........

One batch of Hunters Big Buddha Cheese in november 2007 is my favourite Amsterdam weed ever (probably one of the best alltogether, maybe I've smoked something as tasty from BC, can't remember  ). It was perfect for me in every way, perfectly cured, perfect smell and taste. Really impressed my co-workers.

Of course I was sad the next time when it wasn't as good. Really shows that you don't focus too much on the strains and just buy what looks, feels and smells good at the moment.

What's their Lemon Haze like, that's new on the menu right?

I always liked the crystal lady doobies on there, I always smoked one before I went home (and usually carried 5 or 6 in my bag home) :)

How many more complaints do you need to receive in order to do something about this guy? He is obviously bad for business and is upsetting people.
This is like a stuck record now. I have heard the same cr@p about "the guy at Dutch flowers" or "the bald guy at Grey Area".

Funny, I've never had any problems at those places, nor at Hunters.

Stoned people can be uber-sensitive it seems. I think it's some kind of paranoia from normally having to keep an eye out for cops when smoking back home, and being brought up in that culture.

It's like someone asks for a gram of something (say @ €12) and the dealer wants to round it up to €13 because of a bigger nug (and yes, to make more money, they are a business after all). Then you get people on here who complain about the fact that they lacked the balls to tell the guy "no".

I saw this myself at Rookies the other day. Some kid (above 18 of course) wanted something and the dealer weighed it out and proposed a little more Euros. The kid looked confused and just blurted "sure", almost out of fear. Maybe this goes back to buying drugs off shady geezers in an alley - maybe people feel the paranoia from this, I have no idea.

I have quite often, after being shown a tub, pointed to the bud I want and asked them to just weigh it up for me. Hunters have never been pushy, always friendly (even when just opening) and I have never felt like I wasn't wanted there.

On a couple of occasions in both shops been advised against buying the NYCD and Amnesia Haze as they either, were not that good a batch or just because there was only shake left. Both tenders told me when to come back, usually a couple of hours and also recommended a strain if I still wanted to purchase something now. No stress if I didnt.. the recommendations were great also... I was remembered when I went back in later... Tubs of my previous attempt to buy were happily thrust under my nose without me having to ask again.. Great shop and great budtenders.

I'm sure I'll find something nice on Monday and Tuesday  :D :D

My friend did have a little altication at Barneys on the canal after the budtender apparently heard him say he wanted 2 grams of something when he only asked for 1 gram to take away. He was the last in our line to buy, we all got 1 gram, wierded us out a bit.. Oh well, three of us were served happily.

If i remember, this weekend I shall send Mr.Boner a more up to date menu for the shops.

I can tell you that Chronic, Mako and LA are all now sadly finished. Certainly LA will be back soon.

Y'know, Mako Haze is a funny one. You get a batch of it, looking and smelling quite delicious. The effect is generally the most pure sativa buzz on the shelf, and yet 9/10 customers looking for something more 'high' simply ask for Amnesia / SSH without prompting. Mako also has such a unique smell and taste. For a day time cerebral buzz it really hits the spot for me and carries less of a body blow than the Amnesia/SSH. An 'all in the head' experience. I for one am sad to see the end of our recent batch. Hopefully we shall see a fresh version in the tubs soon.

The Chocolope is a super fresh batch. Just stick yer head in the box and tell me you don't wanna smoke that!

The Lavender remains my own personal favourite evening time smoke. But beware, the end of this fine batch is nigh ;-)

We look forward to entertaining any of you in town this weekend. And, if you're lucky enough to be here this weekend you get to enjoy the splendour of the Sail2010 event, quite the most amazing thing you may see for a while.

Groetjes!

Hey mates does anyone know what are the take away bag ?
It's cheap (35e for 5g of weed, 25e for hash) and I thought it was a good deal to send some to home, but I don't wanna get hash powder and weed dust, so I'm asking here

 I really appreciate the tips on what Hunter likes personally as no doubt his resistance is high like a lot of us die-hards so his views on what does the trick is valued..

I love the quality hash's as you all know but once they start getting to 15 e/g even I as a hash addict have to pull back, I mean the new cream, thats like 7e a spliff, 420e an oz. Kinda nuts really, the euros killing it off man..

About all this abuse the Spanish budtender receives, its been said before but do we have to be so rude/direct/abusive when we are lucky enough to have regular contributions from the owner, and like he says if you wouldnt say it face to face then dont say it. Its clear a lot of you find him abrasive but working the very central coffeeshops is little different to running a bar in Soho or Times Square or wherever, you have to be very robust and remain in control over and above being sweet and nice, it goes with the area IMHO

-a couple of months ago I sat on a rainy afternoon for an hour or so watching him and all the different waifs and strays (me included) that drifted in and out, with the comments about him that I had read previously in my mind, and it amazes me how any budtender can be expected to be a gentle perfect ambassador for the whole dope community when
a) a fair percentage of the customers are off their heads and can barely communicate what they want clearly (definately me included), as evidenced by several who i saw being dealt with very fairly and patiently by the same dude
b) like any central location there are the inevitable idiots/drunks/mad people who have to be gently exited from the premises, again dealt with well, id want a budtender who could handle himself and problem makers confidently as much as someone who has good personal skills..
c) all this dealing with the public day in day out wears you out, I work with the public in sales and I can assure you that sometimes you want to throttle the fuckers, they can be rude, dumb or waste your time etc and rarely appreciate how annoying they (the public) are coming across, so I think take that all into account and be grateful we arent having to buy through a little slit in a fortified steel door with some heavy mother-f ready to 'handle' complaints!
d) the guy actually makes a superb cappucino, easily the best I had in dam and i love my coffee as much as I love my hash, the man knows how to make blended froth from the milk as opposed to bubbles, not many can or bother, he did!

In the old days of Dam there was no expectation (on my part anyway) of high customer service like some of you seem to expect as standard, id like to see the big moaners here doing the job month in month out and still being sweet, I suspect they might be a bit more sympathetic if they were doing it. I mean take the older black guy whose job it is to keep the front of Bluebird in order. Ive seen him be really short tempered and harsh with idiot young tourits acting selfishly/badly, who would no doubt write some abuse on a forum when they got home, but when you spend a lot more time in these places you realise that there is a very fine line between well behaved stoners and people who are needing to be told how to behave, and you have to be bittersweet I daresay in order to get through the day. He also can come across as rude etc but when you invest more observation time you realize how neccessary it is to have someone who is in control around..remember folks Ive seen with my own eyes the guys from Bulldog beat the crap out a customer kickboxing style who crossed some boundary or other, so its relative really....

Holy crap. I'll take someone slamming the weed boxes around a bit over that any day, please and thank you.

Last time I went to Hunters the same dealer was working and I thought he was hilarious. He turned the tunes waaaay up and started dancing with the barmaid, encouraging the customers to join in, lol.

I asked for the NYCD, but it was all out, so he recommended the Chocolope, which I quite like as well, so I went with that. I asked for 1 gram, but he showed me the bud he was weighing and said it was 1.7g, would I like to get that? I said hell yeah, the bud looked awesome and I wanted to treat myself! I know that being 'sold up' seems to bug a lot of people, but I really liked being offered a choice. I mean, if I didn't want it, I could just say no, like all the anti-drug campaigns tell us to. (And I should point out, that on other occasions, and in a few shops besides Hunters as well, I have been offered more and have said no thanks. To this day no dealer has EVER gotten snarky with me over it or given me any attitude.)

The Chocolope was nice, not an overly strong effect, but it tasted delicious and was a great smoke to get me up and moving... as far as Hunters 2, lol. Tbh, I prefer this shop, it's a lot more intimate and laid back. The orginal Hunters would be a place I would go before I go out for the night or something, but Hunters 2 is a great place for a chat with friends. They had the NYCD in stock, so my friend got that and we thoroughly enjoyed it. That smell... heavenly.
