The only reason to go into the tourist shops is the fact that meet-ups are planned for easiest central location for the ACDer's.. Usually I will always purchase a gram or two to appease the minimum purchase only if I feel it is a shop that will mind if I only purchase a drink...

I find though that the bud-tenders are a bit pushy sometimes and have asked me to buy weed after I only ordered a drink and before I have sat down..

If I am shopping for weed, and I smoke quite a bit, I will usually get a coffee and wait for the line to go down or even smoke some of my stash BEFORE I make a weed or hash purchase... There are coffeshops I may never go into again due to this very STUPID practice..You never know who the locals are and it is just bad business.. Particularly when said customers are 40+ stoners... tourists or not...

On that note I will usually cave in and give those shops another chance..
That shit list is as follows:
1. Greenhouse
2. Cremona.
3. Jolly Joker
4. Anyday (May NEVER Return) The excuse is it was a new, and VERY RUDE Budtender... To bad a nice place to chill and nice weed too! Lost a good customer..

Barneys is a tourist Trap! I do like shopping on the Harlemerstraat and having a place to go into for a toke and possibly meet an interesting traveler or two, and I have never been pressured to buy weed there...

Thanks to all for responding. Though I don't like this behaviour it is kind of consoling to hear others have had similar bad experiences. Hate having to watch so close as I believe in good human nature. Have of course been disappointed with that philosophy repeatedly. Feel pretty strongly about Karma though so I am sure this dealer will be caught eventually.

Wow! The majority of good coffeeshops are more than happy to let you toke who's ever weed you are smoking as long as you are buying drinks.

I can attest to the fact I felt under pressure sometimes to buy/replenish drinks in coffeeshops, but ANY coffeeshop that requires me to buy their weed to be in their coffeeshop, I would leave and never return?!

There are some fantastically laid back relaxed coffeeshops in the Dam, please don't waste your time and spend your money in tourist traps that are designed to strip you of your cash.

I'm so glad that we have this forum to keep us from getting ripped off. Don't these people know that eventually, a bad rep will catch up with them? Makes me want to send an email to the shop with the thread every time I read a bad review. Real customers are returning customers and the ones who return to coffee shops will either eventually run into this forum online or know a local who knows where do go in town.

That being said, I can see a rudeness factor in smoking weed or hash in a shop where you didn't buy it. I wouldn't do it out of respect. I mean, let's face it, they don't make their money on coffee. That's not where the real income is coming from.

Half a gram missing of grinspoon is like 8.50`s worth,& if your putting other cheaper stuff in the bag in its place he MUST be doing well! it sounds a bit like the watered down voddy scams you hear about now & then ,& what these guys dont realise is weve grown up with dealers & rip off merchants,KD.
