I've managed to put back the old smilies.

It looks like the links issue is only with old links without URLs and settings in browsers so I don't think I can move it along any more.

Hi Lemming,
I can not make the link to FBN's Froghollow "Who's In Town" work. In fact I can't seem to get onto FrogHollow at all. :?
Is this to do with our forum, FrogHollow or (the most likely) me?

I can say it's not you Trad. The site that host FrogHollow has been down the better part of a week.

I don't know what's happening with FBN's FrogHollow site but it's nothing to do with the links from this site.

I have tried to make both sets of smilies available but haven't succeeded yet.

I deliberately reset the most users online because the old value was set when a bunch of search engines were scanning the site. The number shown now is more realistic and will keep jumping upwards as new records are set.

Slimline tells me that the load on the server has dropped back considerably since switching to phpBB3. New members are able to join up without needing to email me for activation and we seem to be keeping the spammers at bay so I think it's been very successful. I know it's taken a bit of getting used to but I hope everyone is happy with it now.

Thanks so much guys and congratulations. The old site was great and this is the bizz :D :D :D Smilies, luv the smilies. The bigger message space, I like how if the pictures are enormous you dont now have to scroll L-R to read. Excellent, so I will hit submit button followed immediately by the smilie face top right.

I think they're probably human spammers rather than bots but still annoying.

Other news: I've nearly finished plotting the precise coordinates of all of the shops in the 1012 postcode area (Zone A) so I can import them into Google Maps amongst other things. I think I've also figured out why the Streetviews keep moving but there's probably nothing I can do about it. More on that later.

Some bad news I just heard: apparently a batch of shops in Amersfoort have closed with more under threat.
