Re: Blues Brothers
Ok so after reading the menu posted here recently, I decided that I would give this shop a chance as a buy and fly. Climbed the steps to the counter, one person in front of my being served (2 people working, going over some menu changes while serving). After the person in front of my was served I had to wait a couple of mins while the BT's talked over the menu (not really bothered, it seemed like they were having a hectic day, pretty centrally placed Coffeeshop so not surprised at that) then I asked to have a look at the mango. The BT seemed slightly put out with this and he said 'ok, but you will have to be quick with looky looky', nugs looked dark and dense, couldn't really place the aroma at the time but as it wasn't bottom of the tub I thought I would give it ago. Would have bought a gram (8.75 or something per gram) but they only sell in denominations of 10 euros, so I took a 10 bag. Although it was weighed there, I couldn't see the scales and I do think it was underweighed. There should have been over a gram, but I dunno, I think it was probably just a gram. Once I got home and ground a bit up, I realised the smell wasn't good. Maybe a very very slight smell of mango (nothing like the Mango Haze that I had back in the UK) but mainly a more grassy smell, if I had to guess I would say it was under cured but I don't know if that is an accurate assessment. Effect was so, so. I would guess something like 70/30 indica dominant. Taste nothing special, initial impact quite low, but it did have good duration and seemed to be building 30 mins after I had finished my joint. Finally I can say that I made a purchase I regretted, but 1 in 2 months doesn't seem bad, don't think I will go back to buy or smoke at this place.

Re: Blues Brothers
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. ID ALREADY BEEN BUYING 1 GRAM BAGS ALL OVER TOWN AND DECIDED I WAS LOOKING FOR A 5 GRAM BAG OF SOMETHING SPECIAL AND I ENDED UP HERE... THE MENU LOOKED NICE, BUT DEALER HAD AN ATTITUDE PROBLEM, I NOTICED SOME BUDS THE DEALER WAS SHOWING SOME OTHER CUSTOMERS AND ASKED WHAT IT WAS. I THEN ASKED IF I COULD LOOK AT SOMETHING ELSE TO WHICH THE DEALER REPLIED "HE DIDN'T HAVE TIME" EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NOBODY AT THE COUNTER WAITING TO BE SERVED, AT THAT POINT I SUGGESTED HE MIGHT MAKE TIME AS I WAS PLANNING ON BUYING A 5 GRAM BAG (i CONSIDER £60 ALOT OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY), AT THAT POINT I LEFT WITHOUT BUYING ANYTHING. I HAVE VISITED AMSTERDAM TWENTY TIMES OVER THE LAST TEN YEARS AND THIS IS ONE COFFEE SHOP I WILL NOT BE VISITING AGAIN. AND THAT BALD COFFEE SHOP DEALER IS A DOUCHE.

Re: Blues Brothers
Stopped by after a long day walking around last July. The budtender was kind of helpful, he answered our questions and gave recommendations, just never smiled or seemed to enjoy his job. Smoked a gram of Amnesia Haze upstairs. It was kind of a weird vibe, the room reminded me of an office cafeteria or something.
But the room was empty besides me and my mate, and it was after a long day so we were glad to have a quiet place for a smoke. If it was more crowded I could see it being a bummer. Weed was pretty good actually, smelled good, burned nicely and got us stoned. So that was cool. Just not a place I'd ever go back to unless I was trying to get out of the rain and was desperate to get indoors.

Stopped by for a daytime smoke a a lot of shops in this area were closed during the week until 6. Had the Bluberry for 9.80 per gram. Very dry bud so I wasn't expecting much, but it gave a nice taste and good high. First smoke on my last trip and I'm a fan of Blueberry and I have to say it didn't dissapoint. Bud tender was cool and was able to get a table upstairs for an hour or so. I know some people are down on this shop but each time I've been there it's been cool.

I was in Blues Brothers Wednesday 5 March 2014. I usually always pay this coffeeshop a visit as soon as I get into Amsterdam. I get on well with the BTs there. Was gutted to see there was no sticky Fingers on the menu, the BT said I should try S5 instead, they haven't had Sticky Fingers for a while. I like it that you can get 10 euro bags, I usually get 2 or 3 bag of a couple of different bits. I tried the Kandy Kush too, which was excellent very spaced out high. I didn't like the S5 much.

Re: Blues Brothers
Had always walked past this place until December, some Lemon chat on here drew me in.
Never again. Looked and felt like it hadn't been cleaned since the dawn of man. Dank atmosphere and unfriendly staff.

Re: Blues Brothers
walked by the place last week ... RIP closed
I read something about that on a german web page... the license expired if I remember right...
I was there only one (on my first trip to Amsterdam ever) time and the staff was pretty rude so I never come back again...
Anyway one Coffeeshop less

Bugger, what a pisser. I liked their Nepal – and even more, the fact that when they were out of it, they told me where I could get something similar rather than push their own wares.
There was a budtender there from Yorkshire I had a couple of chats with. Can't remember his name, if I ever knew it. I know it's a long shot, but does anyone know him, or what's happened to him? Hope he's found something to move on to.
