Trip Report May 2025 - Flower & Rosin

Hi all,

Retuned from Dam a few days ago. I’m an old school smoker with 100s of Dam trips. I’ve recently got into Live Rosin.

It was nice to see the new passion for quality over there. I guess the Cali scene has really pushed the benchmark. Having said that, I found the Dutch flower to be superior (just my opinion).

Hopefully someone may find this post useful.

Firstly, a big thank you to Kimble from this forum. Made some great recommendations and all were spot on.

GREEN PLACE
The Cali flower was decent. I’ve had better in UK so was disappointed.
As always, their Dutch was 10/10. Beautiful batch of Shoreline. Terpy, dense nugs and high. I tired another 3 Dutch strains and all were perfect.
TenCo Live rosin. Wow. Intense, terpy and hard hitting.

BUSH DOC
This was a fav shop in the 90’s, especially for the iceolators. Sadly both service and product declined over the years.
After Kimble’s advice, I gave it another go and it did not disappoint! Probably the high light of the trip.
ODV 3 Live Rosin – 10/10. Maybe the best I’ve tried. Super hard hitting.
Do La To Live Rosin – 9/10.
Blue Papaya Live Rosin – Yet to try but looks fantastic.

MEDITERRANE
Okay, so this was the one I was looking forward to. I hadn’t actually visited prior and had heard some amazing things.
Sadly I found the Cali flower disappointing. Soft, spongy, loose. Maybe just my bad timing.
Picked up a 710nomad jar, ‘Pressure’. 9/10. Lovely smoke, strong AF! Not a fan of the little terp pearl they put in.

GREY AREA
Best spot of the trip. Consistently good flower. Every strain was on point:
Grey Haze, Vision, Jealousy, Kosher Dirt Dog, Sherbanger 22, Zoap. All were the best flowers of the trip. Nice nugs and lovely flavors. Burning clean. Good service too. I missed out on the Live Rosin here but got some on the way

Great write-up – glad to see you made the trip and even more glad that most of the recommendations actually held up! Taste is always subjective, of course – but real quality tends to shine through for most people. That’s probably why this stuff keeps working.

Thanks again for the PMs too – though honestly, I should’ve just written that whole Rosin-essay straight into the forum. Would’ve saved myself the repeat next time. That said, your post now doubles as my default reply template for anyone planning a “Rosin Tour of Amsterdam” – so thanks for that!

About Bushdoc – looks like you had the same experience I did: not exactly a shop that screams “premium” from the outside, but when you hit a good batch there, it really delivers. Glad you gave it another chance – and even more glad it didn’t disappoint. That was exactly my impression too: solid product, especially the Rosin.

Speaking of surprises – you also mentioned being let down by the Cali flower at Green Place. Just out of curiosity: do you remember which strain it was? I recently had their TenCo Nishi and thought it was very solid. Would be interesting to compare notes.

And since we're talking recent experiences: Mediterrané has definitely been generating buzz - Not just because of inconsistent quality, but also because of a full-on ownership change. If you want the latest gossip (and some strong opinions), there’s a whole thread on it here:

Have some great memories of Bush Doc, i remember the other location with the big dog lol

On this trip they were extremely helpful. The 0.2 availability made trying the rosins so much easier. Makes the world of difference not having to commit to 170euro.
We had a coffee with the chap who cured the L.R at Bosh Doc, really interesting stuff. He was insistent their ODV 3 would have won the cup.
He highly recommended their Ice Water Extract. They were around the 100-120euro mark.

So with the Cali, the first let down was Mediterrane. I'd been watching the Drew review vids for a while now and he was really hyping this place. When we walked in he was sitting there. Star struck! . We spoke for a bit and he recommended Nishi and Zushi. Yellow if I recall. Both were dust and the tiniest pebbles, so I went with some other recommendations. Just spongy with usual gelato terps.

The day we left Dam, Mediterrane and Drew shared their collab news. It now started to make sense. To be fair, he was a Nice chap.

I honestly don’t remember the Cali strains at Green Place, it was the Dutch that stood out for me. I was keen on the TenCo homemade Cookies pack. It was 3.5 for 120 I believe. I had a smell but didn’t take it. It was a little much for me without trying first, I do regret it now.

As mentioned, same with Grey Area. Real quality Dutch flower at a relatively fair price, for dam.

On another note, I’ve been getting back into edibles recently. They’ve come a long way lol. Helps give the lungs a break

Thanks again for the detailed follow-up – really enjoyed the read. ODV3 is definitely one of my favorites from that lineup too, though lately I’ve been leaning slightly toward Do-La-Do. The vapor just feels smoother to me – a bit easier on the lungs without sacrificing the punch.

As for Mediterrané, yeah… there’s already a pretty in-depth thread on that one next door:

The gap between expectations and what you actually get has been a common theme. Curious to see what impact Drew's influence might have – though he seems to be bouncing around between the UK, Thailand, Amsterdam and Berlin lately, so let’s see if any of that filters through to the shop itself.

I actually went for the Nishi Pebble and really liked it – smooth, clean and surprisingly flavorful. You skipped it, I know – but hey, worth a revisit next time. You might be in for a surprise. And those “Weedy Wonders” cupcakes? Hilarious. Thanks for the pics – they really brought your trip to life.
