Really great trip report. I haven't been through Schiphol for a few years, is the smoking room at the back of the Irish pub also gone?

I always feel the same way when visiting this magical city. Love walking out of Centraal Station and taking everything in. Same way when I leave. There's always a tear in my eye when leaving and wondering when I'm going to return again.

Thank you sir! Walking out of CS is the best feeling in the world, walking back in at the end of the trip is the worst

Yes, unfortunately there's no smoking areas past security. I think they got rid of them during Covid.

Great travelogue! Thanks for that.
The pedant in me was particularly impressed that your power nap on day one took a whole month. That must be why they call it the Teleport Hotel.

As promised, here's my embarrassing plane story:

Remember the nice older lady who sat next to me on the plane in Part One? She made a comment about the flight going smoothly, and I replied that I was happy I got the window seat. On both flights, I had seat C in a row labelled A, B, C. On the return flight, a different lady asked me if I was in the correct place, and informed me that seat C was in fact the aisle seat.

I had bragged to the poor lady on the flight over about my incredible luck, only to find out I had stolen her seat (or maybe the seat of her companion) and completely rubbed it in their faces. Oops.

Anyway, here's a spare photo dump...

Absolutely amazing. Fantastic read and brilliant photos. Glad you got to Haarlem, if you ever get back to Indica, Nol’s book is definitely worth the purchase.

Thanks for taking the time mate  8)

Cheers bud! Me and the Mrs are considering staying there later in the year, partly because I fell in love with the place and partly to circumvent the upcoming hotel tax hike in Amsterdam.

Gutted I forgot about the book, Im guessing you got a copy? Do you remember how much it was?

Oh that’s wicked mate. Me and the wife are exactly the same, our next trip to Holland our base will be in Haarlem. Love the tranquility of the place. Didn’t know about the tax hike in Dam that’s soon to come! Haarlem may get busier then lol.

Yeah, I picked one up for €20. Fantastic read. Especially for people who love the history of the Coffeeshop scene.

Thanks again for the travelogue, really enjoyed it. 8)
