At room temperature yes, it’s often brittle and crumbly. I’ve found if you put some in parchment paper and roll it, with your body heat it will eventually sausage in the paper and you can transfer it to doob. Other way for me is to break it up on the paper with a dab tool and drop it in

I guess if you have a loadable vape pen it might work. I have never heard of one of those either, btw.

I don’t have the hash in the vape pen. Only use it for rosin but some good quality hash I imagine would still dab whilst leaving some residue. Full melt is a different story.

Definitely caught off guard that day and it’s my own fault. Stomping around all morning with little food and not much fluids. If I’d gone for a big lunch before I think I would have been able to ride the wave. I’d like to say I’ve learned my lesson but edibles do have a tendency to catch me off guard once in a while My Dad loved them too. One pack was plenty enough to get him mashed.

Yeah me too. When I lived there I went through a stage of having a slice of Paradox's space cake for dessert to kick the evening off. After a few weeks I copped an unfortunate one and had an awful 90 minutes. No amount of coca cola helped, it kept coming and coming and I just had to ride it out. Horrible, and I kinda quit the Paradox cakes after that.

PS. One time during this period when I picked up a stack of five cakes the BT in Paradox was so baked she only charged me for one

Not been to the Rijksmuseum in a while now, I generally prefer modern art but the Rijks is a fabulous place, one of those museums I consider an "all-dayer". It's easy to lose track of time - I once ended up in a room where there was loads of tiny cameo style paintings in drawers and the room was dark. I was fascinated by them and spent an inordinate amount of time in there.

So is the Night Watch still on display while it's being worked on? Fascinating. I'd love to see that.

I too love Gelonade. Get it every month on medical. You've been pretty lucky with most of your wants being in stock - long may it continue.

Great write up and you certainly hammered the rosin while you were out there... surprised you could feel your feet at all. .. yes Amsterdam can be really cold this time of the year, well all times ... I always laughed when Dutch friends talked about British bad weather ...
just got my medical card... so I shall be looking for some gelonade on the lists...

I went through a good phase with those cakes aswell man when I was visiting more frequently around 2015 onwards. I used to like chilling in Paradox too. I was never lucky enough to get a five for one

I don’t mind the odd magic carpet ride with the edibles but it can be a bit unpleasant getting caught off guard. I’d like to say it won’t happen again but I know it will and you know it will for you too

It’s only been the last 10 years or so where I’ve really become interested in history, mainly Roman and medieval. Fuelled by joining up with my Dad in a metal detecting club and going from there. There’s amazing medieval weaponry at Rijks and some very fine Roman coins (one of Julius Caesar that looks like it was struck yesterday) Nightswatch had no one working on it at the time I was there but I can imagine with the set up that you can see them when they are. It’s definitely at least half a day in there mate for me normally aswell, maybe next time

Did you get to the Banksy exhibit at the Moco museum? That was nice to see a load of his work.

Dabs and Primark were the only reason I could feel them dude

British and Dutch weather feels about the same tbh, just that North Sea slap can enhance it a little. Great news on the medical card, my mate has been on it since last year and had some very nice flower.

I've never been to Moco. I don't mind Banksy's stuff and I admire the message in his work but I'd rather go to the Rijks or the Stedelijk. I'll hold my hands up and say I'm a bit of a snob really. My degree is in art history and I'm a photorealist portrait artist myself - well I try I really enjoy getting to see all the art that I've previously only seen in books, and especially with painting and drawing looking at technique, composition and all that. I've been known to sit in front of a painting for a couple of hours and I'm not sure how suitable Moco is for that. I saw a youtube vid and it looked quite cramped and busy.

Rijks is just immense, I bet there's some incredible stuff for history buffs. It's a long time since I've been...

Totally get what you mean. A lot of people assume water hash is always dry and crumbly, especially when they’ve only handled it at room temp. That brittle texture can definitely throw you off at first.

Your parchment trick is solid. A little warmth from your hands really does make a difference — once it softens up and starts to roll together, it’s way easier to work with and transfer cleanly. I’ve done something similar and it definitely beats chasing crumbs around.

Breaking it up gently on paper with a dab tool works well too, especially if you’re just sprinkling it in. Less mess, more control. Appreciate you sharing the tip — small techniques like that make the experience a lot smoother.
