Few aren't over rated (very few)one ill name is dampkrings on harlemmerstraat ;)
Interesting choice. I've been there and found it to be the most sterile coffee shop experience I've ever had. I could go on but none of it would be good and this is the grey area thread anyhow.

I agree with you about Grey Area. Judging by the way it has lost popularity on this board in the last 5 years I'd say quite a few agree with you here on ACD as well. Wouldn't say it is over rated here at all...... anymore.

'Most shops within 500-750m of the train station...'

So obviously you mean Voyagers. Which other shops are over rated on ACD in that radius? I'm not stirring the pot either. Genuinely interested. Names of the shops you mean would make it easier for those of us who are not up with the latest inter shop rivalry, intrigue, gossip etc

anyhow too much off topic i know, sorry but it is an interesting statement.

Maybe if they cleaned the bongs and got some of the stinky local bums outta there, and lowered some of the prices...7 years ago the grey crystals were 10 euro...now 22?....

I have visited Grey area many times over the years, and to me they are still great.

Awesome weed, and I always get generous bags.

Their Grey Haze is always spot on! Never fails.

Also tried their Blue Dream this time around, which gave me the best stoned high I have had in a looong time.
Somehow, I always manage to get a seat in there, even on Kingsday weekend.

silver fields downgraded on menu to a cheaper space, nothing like before, nothing interesting going on.

The silver bubble is top notch. Tasty! Really enjoyed the evergrey as well (thanks Gapie). The crystals were ok. The grains were better. Loved the silver bubble isolator, stronger than expected.

Just spent 15 nights in Amsterdam, hit so many coffeeshops... Some that are never discussed on this board... And I ended up back at Grey Area because of the quality, really enjoyed the Silver Bubble, the Evergrey and the Sour Tangie.

I also tried half a gram of the grey crystals, grains and the silver bubble isolator. The crystals were no better than the stuff that ends up in the bottom of my grinder, but the grains were tasty and strong and the isolator was a punch of THC to the face.

Sure, the place is tiny, the bongs are not the cleanest, the drink selection isn't very good... but I love the place for the quality of the smoke, the budtender is a happy patient guy who has no problem talking and showing you whatever you like even when there's a line out the door... if there's a place to sit I always grab that chair, ask for a bong and spend some time watching the people come and go...

We had the window seat here on a Saturday afternoon and there were a LOT of tourists around... I was sitting in the window taking bong rips while the tourists stopped and stared and looked shocked (and took pictures!) Was a LOT of fun, everyone around me was laughing hysterically. It was great.

Not sure why they have been getting all the hate as of late.
