good place to sit and eat, the food is pretty great, omlets and pancakes really filled me up, and they have a volcano so I sat at the bar and vaped while I was munching my food

but kind of loud and the actual coffeeshop was not really a comfortable place to hang out

although the barney rubble hash was fantastic

There is a new Barney's!
It's on Reguliersgracht (v. pretty spot) just off Rembrandtplein.
It has chandeliers.
I haven't been yet (just a quick look in) - anyone else?

BTW if you visit the original Barney's at 7am on a Sunday, they'll be playing Mozart and other classical music - it's good for the clubbers coming down.

Does the new Barney's have the same hours as the other shop?

what is this new one called exactly??

there have been new ads in High Times magazine the past couple issues.
The ads are for Barney's Farm, when i first saw them i assumed that they (Barneys) were gonna start sellin seeds and the like.

Barney's are already selling seeds over the counter in the Haarlemmerstraat shop.

The new shop just says 'Barney's' over the door, same logo as the others.
I don't yet know the opening hours, but I might get a chance to visit tomorrow, so maybe I can find out.

Judging by the chnadeliers and the proximity to Rembrandtplein, I'd say they were going for a late(r) night operation.

The new Barney's is open from 10am to 1 am.
It's quite small - seats for about 12 or 15 people.
But it is comfortable.

The new one is across the city from the old one, according to the address supplied by Kreeror. And I believe the old one is still open, this is just a new one. Like a franchise.

How about that, a "new" coffeeshop to check out. :)

I assume the gear is the same which has never let me down in the past has a 2nd home.

I'll be in town shortly to see the famous Anne Frank house and if someone doesn't beat me to it, I'll post a couple of pics of the new shop.
My thoughts are free.

A new Barneys sounds interesting, maybe this wont be over run by tourists who don't seem to know where else to go - but the whole thing does seem to be aiming towards a Grasshopper/Bulldog like chain of shops.

Woke up one morning and my friend i decided to go to Barney's, i was really looking forward the breakfast 8)

Id never been to Barneys but i had a general idea of where it was. So after a few joints at our hotel we set off.

Walking down the road Barney's is on (i cant remember the name of the street) i see a breakfast bar, just near Pink Floyd. We go in and order a full English breakfast. Expecting a super breaky i was disapointed to see what was put infront of me. We had salad on a brekfast, whats that about??? Anyway, after the horrid brekfast im starting to think Barney's is not what i thought it would be, we decide to leave. Now, on exiting the shop i look back inside and finally a look on the shop window. Thats when i notice my mistake, we arnt even in Barneys  ive gone in completley the wrong building. I look further down the road and there is Barney's in all its glory 8) After explainign to my friend that we had gone to the wrong place, and him laughing his head off we finally made it to Barney's.

Obvisoully now im not hungry as ive just bought the most dodgiest salad breakfast ever. It didnt reallly matter though as Barney's was packed. I picked up some NYC diesal which was a nice smoke.

Barney's looked a nice place and hopefully on the next visit illl actually go the right place :D

(The "original" Barney's)
I stopped by one morning for a coffee and to check out the menu. Being early in the day I was interested strictly in Sativas. I was amazed at the selection, most of the best strains mentioned here on ACD were on offer. I thought I had found the best shop in town for selection...

They had run out of 3 of 4 of the best Sativas. It happens sometimes I guess but it seemed rather extreme. The best in stock was the Purple Haze which was better than average but not exceptional.

I'll stop in again in the future, hopefully when they are fully stocked.

That was during the last week of October, a Tuesday or Wednesday morning around 9:00am as I recall. They seemed to have everything else, just not the 3 best Sativas (best according to the highest prices). My mouth was watering when I saw the Super Silver Haze at the top of the menu but unfortunately... A good excuse to go back.
